Meet CerVon Campbell | cervon: comedian & musician

We had the good fortune of connecting with CerVon Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi CerVon, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I never slow down, I feel bad when I’m not being what I view as productive. I find balance in trying to schedule my burnouts. this means in my day when I’m working full speed, I schedule things that aren’t as mentally tedious, but are still ways for me to push my brand. I schedule these as breaks for moments I need to slow down, but still want to work.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my comedy I just talk life and same in my music. my rule for myself in music is not to drag anyone else down. I try my best to add affirmation and positive things in my music. I started making music to express my depression, but when growing a fan base I didn’t want to add on to the weight already being carried. the goal is to relate and help. I came out of my low mind state after taking time away from being the “character” I was playing online.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m in Greenville, SC and I’ve fallen in love with it. Downtown is perfect, I’m great just walking and trying whatever food. Downtown here has a bit of everything so that’s the spot.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Using my inner Taylor Swift I say exs and people who keep me inspired, but I have a deep appreciation for John Oates who took a chance on me by collaborating.
