We had the good fortune of connecting with Cecilia Fay and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cecilia, how do you think about risk?
I think risk is what keeps me going. I have a ‘do it scared mindset.’ First, I think self criticism can be our biggest barrier. When you let go of self doubt and fear, then good things can happen. At the end of the day, you just have to get started and learn as you go. Experience is our biggest teacher.

What should our readers know about your business?
Cecilia Fay Creative was founded in Feb 2023. Formerly known as Cecilia Fay Communications, CFC is a creative firm specifically for small businesses and entrepreneurs. We help people tell their story through social media, branding and PR. Our services are specificially curated for each client.

We just rebranded this year and I am excited to grow the business with the new name. I think it is going to be a really good year for us.

I attribute my success to showing up when it’s important and not taking no for an answer. As a young person, there are a lot of small choices that are only up to you to make. What you choose is going to set you apart from the crowd. The little things is what matters.

I think I want people to see me and my story and know that they can DO that thing that they are too scared to do. I especially want young people to know that entrepreneurship is attainable as long as you show up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Memphis has so many spots to grab drinks or eat. I would also take them to a Grizz or a redbirds game. We would definitely need to hit downtown and specifically beale street. Here is a list of spots to eat and drink.

Eats:
Arcade Restaurant
Red Koi
Catherine and Mary’s
Huey’s Memphis
Las Delicas
Brookhaven

Drinks:
Eight and Sand
Max’s Sports Bar
Barware
Railgarten
Wiseacre
Silky O’sullivan’s
