Meet Caroline Dilbeck

We had the good fortune of connecting with Caroline Dilbeck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Caroline, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At Home Team, our vision is to transform home management for future generations. Today, we recognize that the mental load is real. We can name it, list it, and see how much of it exists inside someone’s head.
We also know that, in many families, the responsibility of home and family life falls disproportionately on women. Social norms have shaped women to notice, anticipate, and take on these tasks more naturally.
But what if Home Team could help the next generation do it differently?
What if, because of the example we set today, our children grow up seeing home life as a true team effort, not focused on dividing tasks for fairness, but on stepping up with a shared sense of responsibility? What if both men and women were equally equipped to anticipate needs and manage a home because it was modeled for them and practiced throughout their lives?
At Home Team, we believe home management is a life skill, and like any skill, it takes practice. That’s why we start with this generation, so that the next can inherit a new model of home and family life. A model that strengthens relationships, lightens the load, and ultimately changes the culture of home management as we’ve known it for centuries.
This is bigger than just getting things done. It’s about shaping the future of how families function, and that’s how Home Team is making an impact on the world.
What should our readers know about your business?
Home Team Playbooks was born out of a personal need to better manage my family’s home life after navigating the challenges of the pandemic, a big move, job changes, and two young kids in two years. Life felt overwhelming, and it became clear that there was no practical, simple solution to managing the mental and physical load of family life. So, I decided to create one myself.
What sets Home Team apart is that we focus on home management as a life skill, something that can be practiced, improved upon and mastered over time. Our goal isn’t just about getting things done, it’s about shifting the way we think about home life.
Through our services, we empower families to work together as a team, to distribute responsibilities in a way that feels natural, and to build sustainable systems. The real impact comes from helping families develop a model for home life that strengthens relationships, reduces stress, and prepares the next generation to carry those values forward. I’m proud of this vision because it’s bigger than just home management, it’s about shaping the culture of family life and setting up future generations for success.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is that clarity is the foundation of success. Without clarity, you’re just throwing darts at a fuzzy target, hoping something sticks. You need to know where you’re going, why you’re doing it, and what success looks like for you.
I often ask my clients, “What does success look like for you?” because having a clear definition gives us the focus and confidence to move toward their goals with intention. Without that, it’s easy to get lost in distractions or measure success by someone else’s standards. Defining success on your terms helps you stay the course, make intentional decisions, and adapt with purpose.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Home Teamisabout transforming family dynamics and equipping families to thrive together. My goal is to help create a future where home management is a shared responsibility, and where both men and women are equally equipped to support their family’s needs. It’s about making home life easier, lighter, and more intentional, so families can focus on what truly matters.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a Nashville native who grew up going to Dancing in the District at Riverfront Park every week, I’d definitely avoid Broadway. Instead, we’d book a stay at the JW Marriott and spend the first day doing what all moms dream of, sleeping and catching up. A massage and facial at my favorite spot, Luxe & Luna, would be a must, followed by a lavish brunch at Marsh House (and there’s no skipping the cast-iron skillet cinnamon roll).
We’d spend a sunny afternoon strolling 12 South, doing some shopping and maybe even stopping for a midday margarita and guac at Bar Taco. One morning, we’d grab a lox-on-everything bagel from Proper Bagel and drive through Vanderbilt’s campus, swing by Climb Nashville where my husband and I first met, and maybe even do a quick pass by my high school and where my kids go to school now. For a nice dinner, we’d try to snag a reservation at Harper’s or Bourbon Steak. But if that wasn’t in the cards, we’d sit at the bar at J’s on White Bridge.
For something more low-key, we’d grab takeout from Anatolia (the best Turkish food) or Siam for Thai. If we were feeling really ambitious, we’d consider a show at Zanies or a Preds game, but let’s be honest, we’d probably just stay in and watch HGTV reruns.
By the end of the trip, we’d be missing our families, so we’d head back home, where we’d take the kids to the Nashville Zoo (or Sky Zone or Climb Nashville if it was raining). One evening, we’d drive out to Arrington Vineyards, letting the kids run free while we sat at the picnic tables, catching up over wine and a picnic dinner. Another day we might take the whole crew to Richland Park Farmers Market, then grab brunch at ML Rose on Charlotte, where the kids could play putt-putt while we actually got to sit, eat, and talk.
For me, the most fun and exciting part of any experience is the company I’m with. Nashville’s amazing, but nothing beats quality time with family and a close friend.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout goes to the deep bench of team players that makes it all possible. First, to my husband, Ty—my biggest cheerleader and the best teammate I could ask for. To Jamie Casey, Jessica Smith, Becca Hill, and my book club crew, who have listened to me talk, brainstorm, and iterate endlessly, always offering encouragement and perspective. And to my very first clients who took a chance on me—your trust means everything. Home Team is built on the idea that no one wins alone, and I’m so grateful for the people in my corner who make this journey possible!
