Meet Carlos Spencer | Writer, Photographer, Filmmaker, Dreamer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carlos Spencer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carlos, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk can be life or death. Having something practical to rely on waivers the caution of leaping into the dark without knowing where you’ll land, so life has taught me to always have an anchor. Taking a chance on yourself is never a bad bet, but doing so without any idea of the end result or a back up plan, can be your demise. And more often than not ,because the statistics are not in your favor, can lead to more losses before you ever win..
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
“Visions of a Daydreamer” is literally my interpretation of the beauty and intrigue i see in the world. My goal is to able to leave my foot print in history as other great writers, photographers, and filmmakers have done before me. A critically acclaimed award/ accolade wouldn’t hurt either..
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Food: Coastal Fish, Rotolo’s Pizza, Riko’s Kickin’ Chicken, Central BBQ, etc(This list goes forever depending on what you like!)
Sites: the Memphis Zoo, Brooks Museum, the Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street on Bike Night, Grizzlies in the Forum
Activities: Poetry nights at the E. Carolina Watershed, walking at Tom Lee Park and on “Mane” St, hiking & kayaking at Shelby Farms, Autobahn, Top Golf
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, my kids, My God. They all keep me motivated and inspired EVERYDAY. Without them I’m nothing!
