Meet Cameron Kuykindall | President/CEO, The CamKuy Group, Children & Youth Minister, and Co-Host, Michael Adrian Davis Morning Show, 88.5 FM

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Kuykindall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor for us is knowing our purpose, which is to put UNITY in our CommUNITY. The communities we live in are so vast that we have many different walks of life that we can touch. From single moms to mom-agers (mother managers), dead-beat dads to Father’s Day PLUS dads, surviving children to thriving children, businesses, organizations, churches, and more. Our communities need unity so that we can focus on what we have in common versus what our differences are.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the President and CEO of the CamKuy Group. The CamKuy Group comprises Cameron Kuykindall Ministries, Umoja-Kuumba Designs, and the Annual Holiday Magic Toy Drive. Our goal is to put UNITY in our commUNITY by connecting with the heartbeat of these places of hope: the people. We aim to forge partnerships and relationships with community members from different walks of life so that we can work together to unify our neighborhoods. Our focus, above all, is on the children and youth, for they are not only the future, but the now.
Although sometimes challenging, given a very busy schedule, we try to manage the best we can by engaging in community service and raising awareness about issues concerning the community at large. I’ve learned through starting this group that as we figure out the problems occurring in our communities, we can’t simply point them out, but we must get to the root cause of them so that we can help end them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Welcome to MEMPHIS MANE, with some of THE BEST food and attractions you can get in Tennessee, the South, and the country.
Fav Food Spots: Slim & Husky’s, Chef Tam’s Underground Cafe, Blues City Cafe, and Sunrise Memphis (just to name a few)
If you’re looking to hang out, consider visiting the newly renovated Tom Lee Park, Bass Pro Pyramid, Beale Street, the newly opened Top Golf, Overton Park, Overton Square, or Shelby Farms.
When you’re in Memphis, you MUST visit a Grizzlies game at FedEx Forum, Elvis Presley’s Graceland, the Civil Rights Museum, the Stax Museum, Dixon Gallery & Gardens, and the Museum of Science and History (MoSH).
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This shoutout is dedicated to MY VILLAGE! The African proverb says that it takes a VILLAGE to raise a child and I’m so grateful for every person, young and young-at-heart, that I’ve met that has been a blessing to my life. You all are apart of my WHY!
