We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Guldemond and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brad, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In January of 2020, I moved to Nashville with just a car full of personal belonging and faith that things would come together when I moved there. As a Canadian on a O1 visa, I could work in the field of music and speaking and had some connections for work down there.

In March 2020 when everything shut down because of COVID, all the normal ways I used to make money (live music and speaking) shut down. I stumbled across an online training for entrepreneurs and just felt led to take it since I was stuck inside during lockdown.

I spent 30 days learning online entrepreneurship, ran my first online challenge, created my first offer and ended up making more in a week then I usually did in a year! I thought – wow there must be something to this online coaching / course creation thing!

For me I went all in because I didn’t know what else I was going to do and it seems like a great opportunity to jump into coaching people when they were all bored at home looking for something to do!

What should our readers know about your business?
The way I coach is unique as I’m a music artist, songwriter and entrepreneur.

Most of my life I always just saw myself as a creative, but then when I needed to find a way to make money outside of creative opportunities for a season, I dived into the deep end of business and found that it was a totally different side of me just waiting to be discovered.

Being an artist, songwriter have a lot of similarities to being an online coach and course creator.

You do a lot on your own, your income is unpredictable, things can change on a dime and you have to pivot quickly.

Both of them are also incredibly rewarding as you can create your own schedule, change people’s lives and make a living doing it!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When people visit me in Nashville I love taking them to Milk & Honey in the Gulch for brunch, walking around downtown, grabbing some tacos at Velvet Tacos, pizza at Slim & Husky’s, walking around the Parthenon at Centennial Park, catching a show at the Grand Ol Opy and walking around the massive indoor water and plant features of the Opryland hotel.

I’ll also take them through a stroll of downtown Franklin, maybe check out the Farmers market and the Factory. Grab some Jeni’s ice cream or Five Daughters donuts for dessert.

I also love taking people to places like the Nashville Zoo and Cheeckwood Estate and Gardens – especially around Christmas time!

Being outside, eating good food, listening to good music and spending time with great people are some of my favorite things to do, so Nashville is a great place to do all of those things!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Pedro Adao deserves a big shout out in my launch story. He ran a free 30 day training series that taught me everything I needed to know to make my first $100,000 online. He taught entrepreneurship in a way that resonated with me because it was all about serving others, caring about your customers and being a person of integrity in business.
