Hi Bibi, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Over time, my perspective on work-life balance has evolved significantly. Initially, I prioritized work above all else, often neglecting personal time and well-being. However, I’ve come to realize the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life. Now, I value personal time just as much as I value my professional commitments. I’ve recognized that nurturing personal interests, spending time with loved ones, and taking care of my mental and physical health are all essential components of a fulfilling life. Achieving this balance is key to ensuring not only productivity in my work but also maintaining overall well-being and mental health.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets our DJ agency apart is our unwavering commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity within the industry, coupled with our relentless pursuit of innovation and excellence. We are deeply passionate about pushing boundaries and exploring new horizons while ensuring that both our roster of DJs and our diverse clientele feel valued and represented.

Our journey to where we are today in the business has been marked by challenges, but our dedication to diversity has remained steadfast. We’ve overcome obstacles by staying true to our values, seeking support from mentors and peers, and embracing resilience.

Through our experiences, we’ve learned invaluable lessons about the importance of diversity and inclusion. We firmly believe that a diverse team of DJs not only brings fresh perspectives but also leads to greater creativity and success in our events and productions. Likewise, our diverse clientele enriches our community and inspires us to continuously elevate our services.

Our brand is not just about delivering exceptional DJ services but also about creating a space where DJs from all backgrounds feel welcome and empowered to showcase their talent, and where clients from diverse backgrounds feel understood and catered to. Our story is one of resilience, determination, and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion while pushing the boundaries of innovation in the DJ industry. We believe that by embracing diversity, we can create unforgettable experiences and build a stronger, more vibrant DJ community for all.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

If my best friend were visiting Los Angeles for a week, I would curate an unforgettable experience showcasing the city’s diverse culture, iconic landmarks, and culinary delights. We would start our adventure with breakfast at Sqirl in Silver Lake, indulging in their renowned ricotta toast and inventive dishes. From there, we’d explore Griffith Park, hike up to Griffith Observatory for stunning views, and have lunch at Grand Central Market in Downtown LA. The following days would include visits to The Broad Museum, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier, and Warner Bros. Studio. We’d dine at upscale restaurants like Bestia, Nobu Malibu, and Pizzeria Mozza, and enjoy scenic drives along the Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu. Our itinerary would also include cultural experiences such as the Getty Villa, LACMA, and Universal Studios Hollywood. Each day would offer a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and discovery, ensuring that my friend experiences the best of what Los Angeles has to offer.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to two incredibly important figures in my life who have played pivotal roles in my journey: my spouse and my DJ mentor, DJ Shortee.

Firstly, my spouse has been an unwavering source of support through both the highs and lows. Her constant encouragement, understanding, and love have been instrumental in my personal and professional growth. Her presence has not only brought joy to my life but has also provided me with the strength and stability needed to pursue my passions.

Secondly, I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to DJ Shortee, my mentor, whose guidance and mentorship have profoundly impacted my career as a DJ and as a business person. DJ Shortee’s expertise, wisdom, and encouragement have pushed me to strive for excellence, continually refine my craft, and navigate the intricacies of the industry with confidence and skill. Her mentorship has not only elevated my DJing skills but has also instilled in me valuable lessons in professionalism, creativity, and perseverance.

Both my spouse and DJ Shortee have played integral roles in shaping who I am today, and I am incredibly grateful for their unwavering support and guidance.
