We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor is you have to constantly keep grinding. One of the hardest things that people fail to realize is that majority of them would want to take a day off and forget that they have a goal in mind with people who don’t have any aspirations or goals.

It’s party after party until you wake up 10-15 years later and see that you have no savings, no investments, no property, a weak credit score, no qualifications and no career.

Just a phone full of pictures and memories of people you don’t even talk to anymore.
This is a reminder for you to keep your circle full of productive people, put money away, invest in your future and have some self discipline.

I seen that one time and that really stuck with me and it really made me think of a lot of things in my life and a lot of of things that I’ve cut out.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I’m extremely proud that of the work that I’ve done the places I’ve gone. I like to compare my work to others to see how I can improve on their work of the work that I already like that they do. My favorite work has to be basketball. I really enjoy taking basketball pictures. I enjoy just the pace of the game.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Probably to a Cavs game

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Murray State University is where I got my start at, I learned an extreme amount from those photographers there, and they help pave the way for where I am now without that experience I would’ve never got to the point that I’m at now
