We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Cole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The concept of starting my own business was derived from being bored of working a 9-5. I knew there was more to life and there is a lot more reward when it comes to owning a business. I will say though that my success has been solely through God blessing what we are doing. God is my business partner and is a lot better at everything than I am. So I simply do my best and let him do the rest.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am so excited to go from broadcasting Rooted Television on YouTube to now also being represented on CarbonTV, which is a more targeted viewership for outdoor shows. I want the world to know that I love Jesus, and that Jesus is the answer to every problem. I love to hunt, I love sharing the stories of different hunts, and the only legacy I want my brand to have is that I shared Jesus & I never stopped sharing the good news of the Gospel through stories i the woods.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take them hunting at Sinking Creek Ranch for a few days. We’d do a tour and a bourbon & whiskey tasting at Leipers Fork Distillery. We’d go shopping at Tennessee Turquoise Company. And I’d take them truck shopping at Mid-Tenn Ford. I’d take them to buy some new camo at Thlete! We’d do some farm apparel shopping with Lovin’ Livin’. And if it was pretty weather, we’d go mow lawns with my buddy Zach at Leipers Lawn Care & Landscaping.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Over the years there have been people who have taken me under their wing, it is much appreciated. It begins with my father, Pat Cole, who selflessly taught me how to be a man through being in the woods hunting together. Lesson #1 Always put God before everything else. #2 Always know your target and what is behind it. #3 Never give up despite the challenges. #4 Continuously work on your game, making the improvements needed or practicing until it becomes second nature. There are plenty more lessons learned from my dad over the years but there isn’t enough time to share them all! Another huge supporter would be my wife. She is the best mother to our children, and she constantly challenges me to go above and beyond.
