We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Gladney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
There was a great need for type of childcare that I provided in Memphis. I was already working in my degree field, healthcare management, but I was fulfilled. It really just made more sense for me to start my own business in what I was passionate about. It was always a dream of mine to start a nanny agency. I felt like it was the perfect time.

What should our readers know about your business?
Mobile Mommy, founded in 2016, offers quality in home and onsite Nanny, Childcare and Respite Care services. We work with many Nonprofits and organizations across the Shelby County, to provide childcare during staff meetings, conferences etc. All Nannies are CPR/First Aid Certified and have passed Background checks, and drug tests. We guarantee the satisfaction of our clients and their children, ensuring that your Mobile Mommy experience exceeds expectations. Our Mission is to work with the State of TN and provide funding for mom’s in need of Respite care.

Being a business owner is very challenging. Working with families and something so delicate, their children can also be challenging. But if you love what you do, it all becomes worth it.

I am very proud of the brand that I’ve built with the help of our nannies and clients. It’s so rewarding to see things functioning in real time. It’s definitely a blessing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Memphis, there’s tons of great places to eat. We’d definitely get good wings and barbecue, something that’s very unique here and won’t taste the same Anywhere else!

We’d have to visit the downtown park at riverfront and people watch overlooking the River.

Followed by live music, (that’s another thing we’re known for here) dancing, lots of laughs, friends, downtown views and vibes with more food and drinks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Advance Memphis is a non profit organization here. They were a great help to me when launching my business in 2016. They deserve a big shout of for making a big impact on our community and providing the necessary tools to become successful.
