We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Ave. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Art chose me. I believe that Art can be a symptom and a cure for trauma. The worst thing that can happen to a free spirit is being oppressed. Art helps me push boundaries and overcome fear.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What set me apart is that I am a triple threat creative. I’m a performer, a Video Director, and a songwriter.

I have just started to see success in songwriting here recently with soul artist, Anthony Q. His latest releases, “Stand On My Love” and “Sunshine, Blue Skies” (both written by myself) both charted on the Apple Music charts in the first week of release!

The lessons that I’ve learned along the way are in the creative game,You have to stay the course. It’s about the journey, not the destination.

My brand aims to inspire self-love and liberation to EVERYONE.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably I would invite them to the studio recording session. It’s my safe place, so it’s always a great space for me to get things on a good footing.

My absolute favorite place to visit is Gaylord Opry Mills Resort during the winter seasons!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank the cultures and the people of Memphis and Mississippi. I’m a fine cross between the two. A city girl with a country heart.

I would like to thank my son, “Trace”. He’s my biggest motivation to chase my dreams.

I would also like to thank my creative partner Felly The Voice (Usher- Good Good, K.Michelle-Scooch). An an elite songwriter, he writes for some of the industry’s favorites. I appreciate his ongoing support and hard work to helping me develop my sound and planning my career.
