Meet Ash Taylor | Country Music Recording Artist/Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ash Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ash, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Consistency and discipline have been key for me. Whether it’s writing songs daily, staying engaged with my audience, or constantly improving my craft, I’ve made it a habit to show up and put in the work—even when it’s hard. Also, surrounding myself with great people who push me to be better has made a huge difference.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My music is a blend of California country and Nashville grit, inspired by the Bakersfield Sound I grew up on. What sets me apart is the energy I bring to every performance and the raw, honest storytelling in my songwriting. I’m most proud of the connection I’ve built with my fans—they’re the reason I do this.
Getting here wasn’t easy. When I first moved to Nashville, I lived in my car because I was determined to make it work. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success isn’t just about talent—it’s about resilience. You have to keep showing up, even when it’s tough.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that my music is real. It’s about life, love, struggle, and chasing your dreams. And no matter where you come from, if you’re willing to put in the work, you can make it happen.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Nashville for a week, I’d make sure they got the full experience—music, food, and all the local gems.
We’d start with breakfast at The Pancake Pantry or Biscuit Love for some Southern comfort food. Then, we’d hit Broadway for live music, but I’d also take them to places like The Station Inn for bluegrass and The Listening Room for a true songwriter’s experience.
For food, we’d grab hot chicken at Hattie B’s and some BBQ at Martin’s. One night, we’d go to The 5 Spot in East Nashville—great vibes, live music, and dancing.
During the day, we’d visit The Country Music Hall of Fame, tour RCA Studio B, and take a drive out to Leiper’s Fork—it’s a beautiful little town with amazing music and food. And of course, we’d wrap up the trip with a writer’s round, maybe at Turk’s Lounge, so they can see Nashville’s songwriting magic up close.
Nashville’s got something for everyone, but for me, it’s all about the music, the food, and the people who make this city feel like home
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely! My biggest shoutout goes to my husband, Chris. He’s been my rock, my lead guitar player, and my biggest supporter through every high and low. In fact, my current single, Stuck on Indiana, is actually about him. It tells the story of how I fell for him and how much he’s meant to me on this journey. I wouldn’t be where I am without his love, encouragement, and the way he always believes in me—even on the days I don’t believe in myself.
