Meet Anna Dicarlo | Owner & Founder of La Belle Naturelle LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Dicarlo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When you’re a small business owner, the ‘dream’ is to own a storefront…or just ‘make it big’. In my experience, no one takes the time to speak on the sacrifice it takes to do that.
In the beginning, when I finally decided to my hobby become my business…my work life balance looked like countless hours of research, studying, formulating, staying up way too late at night, skipping outings, skipping meals, etc. It had my head in a space of constant worry, stress and wondering how I could do better and get to that storefront.
I did it, I finally got to that storefront. Yes with hiccups a long the way, but I got there. The work life balance got worse despite my efforts of being present. Years went by and noticed with that came missed games for my kids, 1am mornings during holidays, missed memories. To be honest, as much as my business was my passion, it had changed the lives of people, helped others, etc…I was increasingly becoming unhappy.
During that last yr of a true storefront, I met some of the most amazing people- all happens for a reason, right?!
And I realized the true ‘work life balance’. I decided to create my space on my property, to fulfill true happiness, become more present and most importantly, create the boundaries to be able to make that happen.
Since then, I have made memories with family, taken trips, been present for dinners – while still helping others and now in a bigger way by having donation based services. Which would have been a struggle in a storefront due to overhead costs.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In my opinion, most businesses are created from a necessity, and while I’m not saying that story isn’t fun, it’s not what sets me apart.
I am a mother that didn’t like the options/answers I was given… so I created my own option. And spread that option for others.
What sets me apart is the dedication I have to creating and formulating each product, each time it’s ordered. I don’t have stock just waiting, I don’t send off formulations for a lab to do and get inventory of that. I create from organic, natural, raw ingredients.
What also sets me apart is the donation side of the business, is just that. I have services I provide that I am trained and certified to do – I then offer those services as donation. There’s no minimum or maximum for these donations, they’re offered strictly to help others – as it’s my opinion, all people deserve the chance to ‘heal’. Whatever that looks like for them. And for that, I would like to thank very close friends of mine – Krysti and Tina for helping me to invision what that looked like.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We live near Nashville, so if they haven’t been, that’s a must just to say they have been.
However, if I were staying in my area, I would take them to Golly Gs in Pleasant View. The Willows Grace in Ashland City. Turnbull or Skyking Pizza in Kingston Springs. And probably do Pottery at Mudpuddle Pottery in Pegram.
For a little rejuvenation from running around, I would offer my services to them and then take them to HNH Wellness in Joelton (IV therapy or Ozone). And I would have to introduce them Krysti who teaches emotional intelligence as well as Tina who is a Holistic Practitioner.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to myself as most people should, in my opinion. It’s not easy being the owner a business, so having the ability to sit back and say – ‘this isn’t healthy’ or seeing all the sacrifices that truly are made for not just success, but in my journey, also for helping others and still making a choice of change that better serves me is huge in my book. So, I’m proud of myself.
In that moment, I became selfish to be selfless. I chose me, while creating something even more beautiful for others.
Next, I would want to give a shout out to my support team. From family, to extremely close friends and also clients who have followed my journey and gave support throughout it all!
