We had the good fortune of connecting with Anjannette and Torrie Dreier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anjannette and Torrie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I honestly can say our thought process was more like a “hey why not?” And “let’s give it a try.” We had discussed every reason NOT to start a business. We convinced ourselves that we are just way too busy in our lives to even think of owning a business.
Well, after several months, it turned to the “hey, why not” stage. We started discussing if this was even a possibility. We talked with a friend, who happens to be a creative genius, and discussed what guidance she could offer.
Within a couple months, we had convinced ourselves to “give it a try” and created 865 Candle Company.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a family, woman owned, and LGBTQ+ business that is dedicated to providing quality products to our customers. We have grown to be what we are today by taking baby steps, making mistakes, asking for help, learning daily, embracing the process on our most exhausting days and our most rewarding ones. We don’t think it has been easy per se but just like life this is about the journey. it’s not the beginning or the end that matters but the stuff in the middle that makes it worthwhile.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our shoutout would definitely have to be Brandi Fitzgerald for all her creativity, patience, guidance, support, and our absolute branding guru. She has helped us with every label, each idea, provided us with guidance regarding products and challenged us when needed. Without her guidance, we might not have the brand recognition we currently have as a company. Shoutout to our kiddos and grandson. They have helped from the beginning and continue to help today. They have sacrificed their time to help us with stickers, wicking, cleaning, and so much more.
We also must include a shoutout to our friends. Without their help, we would be drowning. They have helped us with making products, labeling bags, stuffing bags, cleaning, providing dinners, and countless other things.
We have our village. They are all amazing and outstanding humans.
Special Shoutout to our very own MereBear and Kaelan for always showing up!
