We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Nolin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business came from years of working in the Emergency Department; I reached the point where I wanted to be able to help people proactively. I want to help people prevent illness, promote healthy living, and utilize a natural approach. I received encouragement from my husband while debating the idea; he was the final push in making the decision. Being a business owner allows me the freedom and ability to customize products to a client’s specific needs and goals.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting Fluidity IV Therapy was an adventure, to say the least. Having been in the medical field all my life, navigating the legalities of starting a business was a huge obstacle. The starting process took me longer than I had originally planned, but I kept with it, and I am now in my second year of business. All business owners know that there will be ups and downs (especially when first starting), and through the first year, I had to remind myself that not every day will be perfect. Fluidity IV Therapy started off as mobile services only and quickly grew, requiring a brick-and-mortar. FIVT had 2 relocations within a few short months and has finally settled into the current office, where everything keeps improving. After settling into the present office, FIVT has expanded services from only vitamin injections and infusions to offering weight loss injections and selling Obagi Medical Skincare. My biggest lesson has been not to compare my business to others. As humans, we should not compare ourselves to others but reflect on how far we have come, and that’s exactly how I look at FIVT. I have grown so much and I am so very proud.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my friends and I enjoy local breweries and good food. In Clarksville, there are so many options in that category. Mexican food is always a must, but I also enjoy going to The Mail Room. The new restaurant inside Old Glory is quite impressive as well, including their drink selection. Kayaking on any of the many rivers or lakes near here is on the table depending on the weather of course. Working out is something I try to incorporate as much as possible whether it’s a quick run outside or going to Crossfit Dunbar Cave Lab (I have gone to this gym for 8 years). There’s always a reason to go shopping, I would definitely bring my friend to Charming Lane Boutique as they always have something new and great prices. Let’s be honest, true best friends are the ones that you can have a lazy day at home and watch movies with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The idea for this business first arouse from a friend I made while on a travel assignment who owned her own IV business. I had jokingly said I should open my own IV company and she encouraged the idea. After talking with her and learning basic information on getting started I mentioned the idea to my husband. He always encourages me and this was no different. While organizing in the beginning I was needing a supervising physician, when I approached Dr. Singer with my idea he also was quick to encourage the idea. From the beginning when it was just an idea from a friend, to my husband giving me the courage, and Dr. Singer having such optimism; I went for it thanks to all of them.
