Meet Ana Rodriguez | Coffee Shop Owner/Barista & Professional Picture Taker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ana, how do you think about risk?
Taking risks has been my entire career thus far. I think taking risks and gaining experience is the only way to walk through open doors or seize opportunities.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t know that anything necessarily sets mine apart from other businesses, but I know I love what I do. Making coffee is my love language. Taking pictures is my love language. If I could do it all for free and was able to still provide for my family, that would be the ultimate. I’ve learned that balancing both is incredibly important. I can never let my kids think I choose work over them, but I can’t let my businesses slip because that’s what puts food on the table most of the time.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say we have to get facials from Mandy at Ash Salon, paint pottery at Earth Glaze & Fire, grab a one-of-kind souvenir from Taylor Boyd’s Studio, take a drive on Skyline, get lunch at The Whole Ox and grab a iced latte from Half Past Moon Coffee Buzz of course.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh my gosh, who doesn’t deserve recognition in my story – everyone in my family has been so helpful and supportive, my friends have been wonderful and understanding, and my staff has been amazing. Can’t forget the customers, they have also been terrific.
