Meet Amyia Jenkins | Brand Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amyia Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amyia, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My brand, “The Flyest Christian” helps today’s community and society in many ways!! It started with the goal of leading more people to Christ especially in our youth. The main way it helps those in the world today, is by leading them to Christ!! Currently in today’s society, you see a lot of the youth going astray and walking away from the church. My brand was designed to blend Faith and Fashion by showing the audience that they can still look great and express themselves throughout their clothing while also walking with the Lord. I want people to feel motivated and be confident when wearing my clothing by letting them know that no matter the situation if they seek God and trust in Him, He can and will meet their needs. I want to encourage a change of mindsets and hearts of our future generation one t-shirt at a time.
What should our readers know about your business?
The background of my brand:
I decided to create my brand to lead others to Christ as well as just give encouragement on my clothing. I intend to let people know who Jesus is while also showing people that you can still be fly (dress fashionable) when being a christian. Being a christian doesn’t mean you have to be boring but it does mean you are set apart and different, walking like Jesus! With that being said, you can still dress with style, have fun, have a cool personality etc, when following Christ. I feel like a lot of people think being christian means you have to be boring, dress boring and follow a bunch of rules when that is not the case at all. Being christian means you know what Jesus did on the cross and because of that you want to turn your life around and follow HIM. Building my brand wasn’t easy and still isn’t especially with being a part time high school student as well. I overcame the challenges of managing all i do by praying and asking for strength from the Lord daily. A lesson I learned along the way is that there is no perfect time to start a business, just start it! I also learned and am still learning to be patient with my business and its growth. I want the world to know that with God anything is possible.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit me, I would take her downtown to watch the sunsets at the park, I would take her on ice cream dates, painting dates and dinner dates. We would eat at Chick-Fil-A and or Benihana and we would visit the AMUSE museum in which is a fun adventure museum!! I would also take her other places such as skating, trampoline jumping and even bowling. We would visit Shelby Farms where they have zip lining and I would most definitely take her to Axis Conference at Life Church. This is an event where kids 6th-12th grade can learn more about God while having fun. It is a time where we as kids can be vulnerable and honest with ourselves and learn more about how to live a successful life. In Germantown and Colliverille , there are a lot of more places to go to as well. Lastly, I would take my best friend to Top Golf where we will be able to eat, golf and have fun!!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I want to thank God. Without God I wouldn’t be where I am right now and I wouldn’t even have this opportunity!! I am a living testimony that when you surrender your plans to God and build your foundation within Him, He will lead you to success. I would also like to thank my Gma for setting me up for success as well. She is the person that went out her way to help me get started with this business! Her effort means a lot!! Lastly, I would like to thank my family for encouraging me and supporting me every step of the way.
