Meet Amber Smith | Travel Advisor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amber Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amber, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting/owning my own business is the goal of leaving a legacy for my family and my children. I have always admired people who have found a way to do something they love and have the opportunity to leave something behind for loved ones. As I have grown into an adult and have created my own family, I understand how important that is. I want my children to understand that working a job and having a boss is not the only way to earn a living. Being a mom has also taught how important time is and how we can never get it back, so I am striving everyday to be able to spend as much time with my family as I can and ultimately enjoy time and financial freedom.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of AESvacations and I am an independent Travel Advisor who can book any type of travel and help create amazing vacation experiences for my clients. My goal is to save my clients time and stress so that they can focus in enjoying their vacation. One of the things I am most proud of is that I took the risk and have not given up. I am excited that every year my business has grown and I become more and more knowledgeable so that I can further assist my clients. It has not been easy getting to this point and I am sure there will be more obstacles in the future but I have continued to see my vision and work towards it even if it is at a slow pace. Some ways that I have overcome challenges are by asking for help, staying calm and being patient. I have learned to have faith and to always be positive. I would like the world to know that I am a hard worker who is passionate about travel and will continue learning and growing my business.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend was visiting the area for a week long trip there would definitely be plenty of things to do. I would not be able to have my friend in the city for a week without going on Broadway St. downtown and there are plenty of bars and rooftops like Tootsies or Jason Aldeen’s. If we were to get hungry, there is a new restaurant I visited this year called Black Tap with some amazing burgers, milkshakes and drinks so I highly recommend it. If my friend was in a hot chicken mood I would suggest Prince’s. If we are in one of the sports seasons then we could definitely see the Titans or the Predators or maybe catch a concert of comedy show at Bridgestone Arena. If my friend is wanting dessert then we could check out Jeni’s Ice Cream. I would do my very best to show my friend a great time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout to my family and close friends for all of their encouragement and support throughout this journey. I appreciate any of my friends and family for booking with me and trusting me as their Travel Advisor. I appreciate any referrals or anyone who has mentioned me and my services to someone else. I also would like to give a shoutout to all my business partners and all of the amazing leaders in my travel organization. I have learned so much from so many people and I absolutely love that we have such a family environment within our Travel Agency. I am so grateful and blessed to have been introduced to this business.
