Meet Allison Parker | Co Venue Owner with my husband

We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allison, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Never judge a book by it’s cover.
Even though my mom taught me this at a very early age, it is still easy to get caught up in outward appearances. Everyone’s priorities are different. This is also why I do not offer “cookie cutter” packages because every couple and wedding is unique. One couple may want to offer the finest food and service around the meal and the next is just interested in amazing photos. I believe we were all created to be unique individuals who have different outlooks with different dreams and visions. This is why we offer personalized quotes for additional services always with the option to book the services yourself, therefore, not tied to the vendors I would choose.
What should our readers know about your business?
Everyone’s story is unique and this is our story. In 2013, our family purchased a farm in Cedar Hill, Tennessee, which became our weekend getaway. We quickly learned what country living was all about! As a family, we worked most weekends renovating the farmhouse and barns, as we strive to be good stewards of the land. The farm is maintained in such a way to preserve the natural beauty of the 63 acres we call L&L Farm. By the way, our farm was named for our two daughters, Lauren and Lindy.
L&L Farm’s first wedding was for our oldest daughter in October 2016. We knew we had to share all of the natural beauty this farm has to offer. The unique outdoor spaces, gorgeous countryside, and lush scenery are perfect for the Big Events in your life!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I recently hosted a girls overnight at the farm in the farmhouse, aka the bridal suite. We stayed in and drove around the property in the ATVs and planted a tree in memory of my late father. We had a local catering company, North Nash Catering deliver charcuterie boards. If it was a week long trip, we would have visited several favorite restaurants in downtown Nashville, like, Eddie V’s, pizza at North Italia, brunch at RH cafe in Green hills, and Mexican at Saint Anejo. Third and Broad is a great time just walking around and seeing the shops, restaurants, and live entertainment in downtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Initially after considering converting our farm into a venue, the first thing I did was read, “Turn Your Rural Property Into A Wedding Venue Business” by Ames Quiriconi and boy did it get the wheels spinning! Facebook groups for venue owners like, Wedding Venue Owners & Management Community” are super helpful to help or learn from others.
