Meet Aeo Tyler | Musician / Story Teller / Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aeo Tyler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aeo, what principle do you value most?
To me authenticity is the most important thing. Everything else grows from there. No matter what I do I would never want to succeed by being anything other than myself. If someone is inauthentic and dishonest they can still grow but they’ll lack trust for those around them because they know that they themselves aren’t trustworthy. When you’re authentic even when things don’t work out you can look within yourself and know that you failed being real to you and not a fake version of yourself. I say all that to say I believe in only keeping real people around you. You’ll have moments of disagreeing but you don’t have to second guess them as a person. You’ll know that they are the person they are presenting to me and most times that’s all you can ask for.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that sets me apart is the thing that should set every artist apart. I’m me. Like I was saying before about authenticity, it allows you to present your true self. Nobody can be me, and I can’t be anybody else, even though some people do unfortunately try to be others. To them I say do your thing, but personally I lack respect for art that is a copy of another’s work. Being inspired is one thing but be original.
I got to where I am today professionally by working, being myself and living life. Nothing worth having comes easy. I come from lower income and that is probably a heavy inspiration in how I think of the different art forms I work in. You have to keep pushing, fail, get up, fail and get up again. A lyric from my song “Lights Out” is “this life here nigga / this shit supposed to be hard / it make the struggle all worth it / pull up and I skrrt it” and what does lines are saying is that life is going to test you, and that can feel hard but on the other side of those moments putting in hard work makes you appreciate the struggle it took to get somewhere and be better.
When it comes to me and the brand, Forever Future Lifestyle, that I’m building is that it’s a real brand that speaks to my life and reflects it in a way that can connect to those who’ve had similar journeys. And even if your journey isn’t like mine you can see that it’s real
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t use best friend really but I have a few ones I consider close friends, so it really would depend on which one of my friends comes down, cause they really be on different vibes sometimes. But if they pull up I’m fasho hitting up Dream Wings cause the wings and fish there are always slapping. As far as stepping out I’m more bar and lounge than a club so we probably hitting up either midtown or downtown and definitely finding somewhere in the third. I’m a huge foodie and I’m Northwest Houston so I’d really be talking about hitting a bunch of food spots this way. Quotes is a good spot on this side for all around cool times. I’m kinda drawing a blank on specific places right now to go to but it’s the H so I know we’ll find some stuff to get into.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
EVERYBODY! If you’ve have an encounter with me, then shoutout to you. I believe every engagement with others, whether big or small, good or bad, is a moment to adds to your development as a person.
Beyond that I got to thank my family and friends. My family helped me grow into the artist that I am today. They gave me the space to grow my crafts and even when they not rocking with it still take time to check out what I do. My friends are the people I’ve chosen to have in my life and they support me and help me develop. They’re the people I can talk out ideas to. I don’t want to get into naming names those who have been there for me know without a doubt who they are and that I appreciate them.
