We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam “wyshmaster” Cherrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam “Wyshmaster”, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I chose a music career because I am able to channel what’s internal, externally with the music I create. My beats are feelings I cannot put into words. Music speaks to my soul and since I can remember, music has helped my mood, my power, and it’s a huge part of who I am. There’s no job that I know of that would inspire me the way music has. I am a complete version of myself because I have followed my dreams to keep doing music and be a Music Producer. I live a life where I express myself freely and it’s incredible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It changes in different seasons. I am now over 20 years in as a Music Producer with placements from video games to SNL and everywhere inbetween! I got to where I am by being open minded and not letting the word no ever stop me. I have worked months on a project that went no where and had a single session turn into a huge success. There are no guarantess in music so you have to really be committed to the lifestyle and put in endless work. But you know what they say if you love what you do, you never work a day in your life. However, I know that this is my business and I treat it as such. As one of the first Music Producers to sell beats online I was able to access talented people all over the world. I learned that there are so many people without knowledge about the music industry. It’s a passion to do music but it’s another things to make it as a professional career. I created two Music Programs including the first beat making course at a college level. I split time in the studio and education for about ten years to teaching upcoming artists and producers. If there is one thing I want people to know about me is that I put in the work and still setting new goals.
I have teamed up with my business/production partner, Igor Nudleman, and we have started our own music label, “The Hit Firm,” based out of Los Angeles. Traveling between Nashville and Los Angeles has its challenges as a Family man but my support system is rock solid. My wife and Daughter travel back and forth as well and their support helps me grind harder. Igor and I have also signed a Publishing deal with Empire Records and have a bright and creative journey ahead of us. I’m so fortunate after 20 years (+) to be going back to my roots with “The Hit Firm,” making music that we love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well here in Nashville, we are taking out the boat to either Percy Priest Lake or Old Hickory. I love pulling up to the Rudder to look at all the lake houses and other boats, or just a calm day fishing and taking a crusie. Two city spots would be Adele’s for a weekend brunch or 312 pizza in Germantown. We are originally from Chicago and 312 never disappoints! Usually before a flight you can find me at Darfon’s by the airport, it’s menu is diverse and the food is delicious. We are zoo memebers and frequent there when the weather is nice. Nashville is a great place for Family and we enjoy raising our Daughter here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife Shannon and my Daughter Simone who believe in me and are always cheering me on, I love you.
