Meet Aaron Schilb | Concert Promoter / Founder of Nashville Tour Stop

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Schilb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I created Nashville Tour Stop because I couldn’t find the supportive community I wanted to be part of. Moving to Nashville to try becoming a professional musician is quite daunting, and much like myself, most people don’t have any connections when they first move here and don’t know where to begin.
Nashville Tour Stop’s purpose is to integrate songwriters, artists, and creatives who are new to town with those who are already plugged in. We strive to provide opportunities to musicians who are at different places in their careers whether they have one fan or one thousand!
Building a community first event has been a testament to our enduring success.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Nashville Tour Stop provides live music booking services to concert venues, bars, restaurants, and hotels. That’s the “corporate speak” version of what we do. There are dozens of companies and individuals that offer similar services but something that has set Nashville Tour Stop apart from the others is how we go the extra mile to promote our performers through digital marketing and on-site advertising.
We were the first, at least to my knowledge, to integrate the use of televisions that were available at the bars where we were working early on and created custom graphics for each performer to share their name, their social media handles, and a photo of each performer to match. In Nashville there are so many performers that it can be difficult to remember who you saw perform, so we took the guess work out for the fans and helped the performers gather new followers.
Since then we have expanded our use of digital marketing on site and work with corporate advertisers to promote food and drink specials, new music releases from our community of songwriters and artists, and so much more!
There’s a common saying that Nashville is a “ten year town”, meaning it takes ten years to “make it”. We got to where we are today, now almost six years later, not by having any flashy or extravagant moments, but rather having a consistent and reliable base of live events built on the community that supports everyone involved.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Nashville has myriad activities available, but many of my own favorites fall off of the beaten bath of “Nashville’s Top 10” lists.
Some of my favorite music venues include midtown Nashville’s “The Local” next to Centennial Park, the Cambria Hotel’s “True Music Room” on the 5th floor of the hotel, and The Basement on 8th Avenue.
Outside of the music industry though I am particularly fond of Pins Mechanical Co., an arcade and duckpin bowling bar in The Gulch. I also love the Village Pub in East Nashville, Mickey’s Tavern for late night drinks and darts, and if someone really wants to venture to Broadway, I always recommend Robert’s Western World which feels like it has been perpetually stuck in 1967.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s difficult to pick a single person! Since Nashville Tour Stop was founded in 2018 we have had more than 2,000 different acts perform on our shows. Each person has contributed in their own way, whether it be through their music, their time, or their friendship. Everyone has something to offer!
