Meet Christina Coldiron | Graphic Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Christina Coldiron and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christina, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My idea of balance has evolved. The more I’ve learned about myself and what brings me happiness, the more I’ve realized that balance looks different for everyone — we each have our own unique set of priorities that keep us feeling grounded.
Right now, being a mom, caring for my family, and focusing on my health are the things I prioritize most. I know this will shift as I move through different seasons of life.
One thing that helps me stay aligned is a monthly check-in with my accountability group, which keeps me focused on what matters most.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a graphic designer with almost twenty years of experience and a love for branding.
In recent years, I’ve been focusing on blending my hand-drawn sketches and artwork into digital designs, creating custom wallpaper, notecards, and prints from my original art.
I’ve always been drawn to interior design and enjoy mixing the principles of branding with home decor. My favorite part is helping clients create a style that tells their story and feels like a reflection of who they are.
One thing that sets me apart is my love for community and mentoring kids. I host an annual camp for girls called SPAK!e that encourages them to SPARK! the life they want to lead and embrace their own SPARK!e to make a positive impact in the world.

The idea came to me during the summer of 2020. I wanted my two daughters to build meaningful connections with other kids while learning ways to approach big emotions and discover what truly makes them happy.
Over the past year, I’ve expanded my work within the community by hosting an accountability group for women, where we support each other in finding balance and building habits that lead to greater happiness.
Finally, I also love bringing people together through pop-up events in the “barn” behind our home in Sylvan Park, featuring products from women-owned businesses and local makers.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Dave, who has been with me since I graduated from college. He has been a constant source of encouragement and thoughtful advice.
I am a part of an incredible small group of designers and artists who meet with me once a month. They provide helpful insights and support.
Bonnie Christine’s online course and membership for surface pattern designers have taught me more than I could have imagined and continue to provide prompts, community, and education.
