Meet Kimberly Lockridge | Stylist, Life Insurance Rep & MLO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Lockridge and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“You can make money back, but you can’t get time back.” Before having kids work was my life, even though there were times I felt like I was missing out on fun with family and friends . It was all about creating a financial secure future. Definitely after having kids (taking my appointment book on vacation, missing out on small milestones, rushing to games and dance performances, etc) life got very overwhelming, so I began working with a life coach that gave me that quote/ mantra. So, now when life starts to get out of balance I return to this.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love that my clients recognize that I’m not the traditional ethnic salon. I manage my business to service clients in a timely manner with quality products and professionalism.
I always knew I wanted to have cosmetology as a back up profession, but never imagined it would be my profession for 30 years. (I still have my Barbie dolls that were models as a child). I pursued Accounting in high school and college with aspiration of opening a CPA firm. After completing an Associate. Degree and not being able to secure a job in the accounting field, I returned to cosmetology school 3 months later. The accounting degree has helped me to run my salon as a business, I’m incorporated, have a retirement and recognized a real business. I will say this journey has lead me to realize I like each day to look different and to accept that life is a faith journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
5th and Broadway, African American Music Museum, Rudys Jazz Club, Anderson Point Beach in Antioch, work out at A Beautiful Pain, Pelato, The Finch, Char Restaurant, Sweet Milk and ButterMilk Ranch and Line Dance classes at Rock the Belz and Hadley Park
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
