We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarai, how do you think about risk?
I’m a huge believer in taking risks, but I’m also a big believer in understanding why you’re taking the risk and what the return on the risk can be.
I’ve taken a lot of chances in my careers – with not always staying the course to what society agrees with, and because I’ve done that I’ve had skeptics. People can look at it and say – wow you have a lot of experience and wear many different hats, why haven’t you stayed with this company for a decade (this is not a question that is endeared to anyone) – but all of that has led to me having a vast consulting component and strong strategic way of thinking. I can step in to a business or work with a founder and executive and really help branch out their vision long term.

My strongest suits are in operationalizing and scaling. It’s taken me a few years to get here but it’s due to me taking risks and trying things that people will judge you for, and not do on their own. *The only reason people don’t take a risk in certain areas is because they’re afraid and they’re afraid to fail. Failure is the most important thing because how can you actually be successful without any sort of failure – *the two are synopsis to one another.

So take the risks and know in the end it will all work out. It may not be the easiest path, but at the end of the day you will understand and have a lot more grit under your belt because you’ve taken those risks. Do your research though before taking certain risks!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think the most thing I’m excited about is how much work I’ve done on myself. Invest in yourself – why wouldn’t you invest in yourself?

I think that is the real flex in how I deal and scale in business, I am consistently and constantly learning to improve my skill set. It benefits my life personally and professionally.

I have always been into fashion, luxury, & fashion designers. I currently work in Fine Jewerly and it’s incredible to see these beautiful pieces come to life through natural materials in the world-there is such an art to it!

I do think Fine Jewelry is a very specific market – if it’s true fine jewelry; however brands can be for everyone that want to celebrate a special moment in their life or wear a beautiful piece every day because you worked really hard to afford that – so why not make things mentally accessible to yourself.

The perspective from a luxury standpoint is something I love to share with others and really working with clients to bring their vision to life is very fulfilling for me – that’s why I continue to do the things that I do – to improve myself so that I can better share the overall experience for the brand / company that I’m working with!

Challenges are a part of life, some days we can tackle them head on and other days we need to surrender! Learning to surrender is probably the biggest challenge at times!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question oh, I’m a big foodie and restaurant person. Ideally, I think the day would start out at Bathhouse in Flatiron spending a few hours there in the cold plungers ,steam room and sauna is really relaxing and detoxing the body for the day and then we would head over to a fun restaurant trendy restaurant for lunch. Have a great time there. Take a walk around Soho, Chinatown then back up to West Village and Meatpacking area. Stop by have a cocktail at Pastis for happy hour, and then from there, walk the Highline and head Uptown to a fun restaurant for dinner. I am a huge fan of quality meats in Midtown!
