Meet Jon Stolzer | Co-Owner & CEO, Recovery Care of Columbia & Nashville Addiction Clinic | Advocate for Evidence-Based Addiction Treatment

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jon Stolzer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jon, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic is our unwavering commitment to treating patients with dignity, respect, and evidence-based care. From the very beginning, we recognized that effective treatment for opioid use disorder requires more than just prescribing medication—it demands a comprehensive, momentum-building approach that empowers patients to reclaim their lives.
Our success is rooted in the belief that addiction does not define a person, and recovery should not be a revolving door. We have created an environment where patients feel seen, heard, and supported, which fosters long-term success. By combining the highest standards of medication-assisted treatment with a compassionate, patient-centered philosophy, we have established a program that truly serves as a final stop on the road to sobriety.
Additionally, our team’s dedication plays a crucial role in our success. We don’t just provide treatment—we advocate, we fight, and we stand beside our patients every step of the way. Many of us understand the struggle firsthand, and that perspective has allowed us to build a program that not only saves lives but restores hope. It is this combination of medical excellence and human connection that has allowed our brand to thrive and make a lasting impact.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
About My Business
Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic were founded on the belief that individuals seeking recovery deserve more than just medication—they deserve dignity, respect, and a treatment program that sets them up for long-term success. We are not just another office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) provider; we are a team that fights every day to ensure our patients receive care that is both evidence-based and compassionate.
What sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to providing the highest standard of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) while prioritizing the human side of recovery. Addiction has a way of stripping people of their confidence, their identity, and their hope for the future. Our approach ensures that treatment is not just about stabilization but about transformation—helping our patients rebuild momentum toward a life free from opioids. We don’t believe in revolving doors; we believe in being the last stop before a life of sobriety.
That commitment to ethics, evidence-based practices, compliance, and innovation led us to become the first recipients of Tennessee’s All-Virtual OBOT License. This recognition is a testament to our steadfast focus on delivering the very best in comprehensive opioid use disorder treatment. We have developed a proprietary set of processes that allow us to provide medication-assisted treatment in a way that is both accessible and unparalleled in quality.
Our patients can complete every aspect of their treatment through our HIPAA-compliant app, including drug screening, individual and group counseling, and medication management with their treating physician or nurse practitioner. Our drug screening process is the most sophisticated our state, insurance providers, and oversight partners have ever seen. We are able to provide both rapid and confirmatory drug screening from the comfort of our patients’ homes. Using our proprietary supplies and specialized specimen mailers, patients can simply place their sample in their mailbox, where USPS picks it up and delivers it directly to our partner lab in Florida.
The Journey and Challenges
Getting to where we are today was far from easy. The world of addiction treatment is complex, with ever-changing regulations, insurance challenges, and societal stigma that still surrounds opioid use disorder. One of the biggest hurdles has been ensuring that our services remain accessible while maintaining the highest quality of care. Insurance billing, compliance, and staying ahead of industry changes require constant adaptation, but through it all, we have remained steadfast in our mission.
We overcame challenges by staying true to our core values—integrity, compassion, and excellence in treatment. When obstacles arose, we met them head-on with creative problem-solving and a commitment to doing what’s best for our patients. We also leaned into teamwork; I have been fortunate to have a business partner whose strengths balance mine, allowing us to navigate the complexities of running a healthcare business together.
Lessons Learned & What We Want the World to Know
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success in this field isn’t just about numbers or growth—it’s about impact. If you take care of people the right way, the business side follows. Patients recognize when a provider truly cares, and that trust is what drives long-term success.
I also learned that resilience and adaptability are essential. Running a business in the addiction treatment space requires patience, innovation, and the willingness to fight for what’s right, even when it’s difficult.
What I want the world to know is that Recovery Care of Columbia and Nashville Addiction Clinic are leading the way in virtual addiction treatment. We have created a model that sets the gold standard for telemedicine-based opioid treatment. Patients no longer have to face barriers like transportation, scheduling conflicts, or long waits for care. Through our state-of-the-art, fully virtual model, we have redefined accessibility while maintaining the highest clinical standards.
We are here for those who want recovery more than anything else—because we believe they deserve everything else. Whether you are a patient, a loved one, or someone simply looking to understand addiction treatment better, know that real recovery is possible, and we are here to help make it happen.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to show them the best of both worlds—Tennessee and Tokyo. These two places may seem worlds apart, but for my wife and me, but both have a special place in our hearts. Tennessee represents Southern hospitality, comfort, and the slower, scenic way of life, while Tokyo is fast-paced yet incredibly safe, clean, and exciting. It is a city where every corner offers something new to discover.
In Tennessee, I’d start the day with breakfast at Biscuit Love because you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Their hash bowl is amazing. For a laid-back lunch, Sunset Sushi and Thai is a hidden gem where you’ll find the best red curry around. In the afternoon, Arrington Vineyards is a must—it’s just down the road from where we live, and it’s a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine. For dinner, Perry’s Steakhouse is hard to beat, whether you’re going for a fantastic steak or their legendary pork chop.
In Tokyo, the food scene is on another level. Frankly, everything is on another level. They are living in the future! As far as food goes, Ivy Place in Daikanyama is hands down our favorite breakfast spot—it’s a peaceful retreat in the city with incredible food. For lunch, my wife and I love visiting the food shows in shopping districts like Ginza. Takashimaya is one of Tokyo’s oldest department stores and a favorite of ours; it’s packed with fresh food made at individual stalls serving everything from sweet to savory. We’ll pick out a few favorites and head to the rooftop to enjoy what we’ve found together. When it comes to dinner, the options are endless, but for top-tier sushi or nigiri, Hinokizaka at the Ritz Tokyo is an experience you won’t forget.
These places capture the best of Tennessee’s warmth and Tokyo’s vibrancy. They represent the contrast and connection between two places that mean so much to us, and they’re where we’d take anyone wanting to experience the best of both worlds.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Success is never a solo journey, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to the people who have stood beside me and helped shape my path. First and foremost, I want to give thanks to the Lord above, who has always been my North Star. Through every challenge, His guidance has provided clarity, strength, and purpose, reminding me that this work is about something greater than myself.
I am also deeply grateful for my incredible wife—her unwavering support, patience, and belief in me have been instrumental in everything I’ve built. She has been my rock through challenges and my greatest source of encouragement, constantly reminding me why this work matters.
I also want to recognize my business partner, whose strengths complement mine in the best possible way. His talents fill in the areas where I lack, allowing us to create a truly well-rounded and effective team. The success of our clinics wouldn’t be possible without that partnership, and I am grateful for the balance we bring to each other.
Beyond them, I owe a debt of gratitude to my remarkable team, comprised of amazing physicians, nurse practitioners, counselors, and administrators. You won’t find a more impressive group of professionals. They are as caring as they are talented. I am grateful they have planted their flag with us.
