We had the good fortune of connecting with Ranee Gilbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ranee, how do you think about risk?
. Risk-taking is something I genuinely enjoy. By showing my clients what’s possible when they think outside the box; I can safely drive them toward outcomes that are not just rewarding, but transformative.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an interior designer is akin to being an artist. We start with a clean slate and complete each project down to the final decorative pillow. I love the ability to “paint a picture” using fabrics, carpets, paint colors, and architectural elements that bring my clients’ visions to life in ways they might not have imagined. Entering the design field can be challenging, as there are many talented designers. I strive to set myself apart by being fully present in every project. My clients work directly with me. Honestly, I am most proud of the fact that I have so many repeat clients. I’ve built my business on being professional and treating my clients with respect. Every time a client refers me to someone else, it’s a good feeling, a feeling of accomplishment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Nashville has some of the best places to eat and have fun. I always recommend Broad because of the many restaurants and gift shops to visit. Depending on who is visiting, I love Tootie’s for a glass of wine. And then on to Ole Reds for some good ole down town food. I have a nephew that loves Top Golf, really we all love that place, it’s a good place for kids and adults too. And we can’t forget the Opry Land Hotel…especially at Christmas time..it is a beautiful place for dinner and just stroll through the gorgeous gardens.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have had many mentors throughout my career, making it difficult to choose just one person. However, I must give credit to my wonderful mother. She taught me from an early age that hard work and dedication are essential for success in any career path. My mother always emphasized the importance of following through on my commitments and never being late for anything. She instilled in me the belief that honesty is the foundation of a good life.
