Meet Amina Zukanovic | Realtor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amina Zukanovic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
1. Empowering Minorities: I wanted to help minorities, like myself, own property and build generational wealth. Owning a home is often a significant step toward financial security, and I felt called to make that process more accessible and less intimidating for others.
2. Personal Fulfillment: I’ve always found joy in helping others, and real estate allows me to guide people through one of the most important decisions of their lives. Being a trusted resource during this pivotal moment is incredibly rewarding.
3. Community Connection: I’ve lived in my neighborhood for years and know the value of community. Real estate gives me the chance to strengthen those connections and contribute to the growth and vibrancy of my local area.
Ultimately, I wanted to create a career that aligned with my values, allowed me to provide for my family, and left a lasting positive impact on my community.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My real estate business is all about helping people, particularly minorities, navigate the path to homeownership and build generational wealth. I’ve always been passionate about making the process more accessible and less intimidating, especially for those who may not have grown up with the same advantages when it comes to homeownership.
What sets me apart is my genuine dedication to my clients’ success. I’m not just a realtor; I’m an advocate. I focus on education and empowering my clients to make informed decisions. I offer free homebuyer education services and take the time to explain every step of the process. Building relationships is a core part of my business philosophy, and I love helping my clients feel comfortable and confident in what can often be a stressful and overwhelming experience.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the sense of community I’ve built through my business. I’m deeply connected to my neighborhood and genuinely care about the people I work with. Over the years, I’ve earned a reputation for being trustworthy, hardworking, and always putting my clients’ needs first. I’ve also recently started expanding my outreach through events like my End of Summer Jam and offering personalized handwritten cards to my clients, which has helped me stay connected on a deeper level.
Getting to where I am today has been a journey. It hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has been an opportunity to grow. I started my business with a deep passion for helping others, but I quickly realized that the road to success requires a lot of hard work, learning, and perseverance. Overcoming the challenges, like learning to cold call and managing my time more effectively, has taken a lot of dedication. But the most important lesson I’ve learned is the value of consistency. Even when things are tough, staying disciplined and committed to my goals is what keeps me moving forward.
I also learned that being adaptable is key. The real estate market is constantly changing, and I’ve had to stay flexible and open to new tools and strategies. Being part of coaching and accountability programs has really helped me stay focused and evolve my business practices to keep up with those changes.
What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that I’m not just about making a sale. I’m about making a difference in people’s lives. My business is built on integrity, service, and a strong sense of community. My mission is to empower my clients and help them create a foundation for a brighter future. Every step of my journey has been driven by a passion for helping others, and I will continue to work hard every day to make that vision a reality.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here are 3-5 top spots I’d narrow it down to for your best friend visiting Nashville for the first time:
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely! My journey in real estate has been shaped by the unwavering support of several people and resources.
First and foremost, my family deserves a massive shoutout. My husband has been my rock, stepping up when I’ve needed extra time to juggle my responsibilities as a mom and entrepreneur. My child also inspires me daily, reminding me why I strive to build a better future.
My broker, April Harrington, is the person who gave me a chance and took me under her wing. She exposed me to the incredible people and resources that have been vital to my growth in this industry. Her guidance, encouragement, and belief in my potential have been game-changers for me, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities she’s provided.
Two books have had a profound impact on my success. “Exactly What to Say” for Real Estate Agents by Phil M. Jones changed how I approach conversations, teaching me how to build trust and deepen relationships with clients. Additionally, “Stop Squatting with Your Spurs On” by Angel Tucker transformed the way I understand and communicate with different personality types. It taught me how to speak to people in a way that resonates with them, helping me connect more effectively with both clients and colleagues.
Finally, a heartfelt shoutout goes to Jenny, Elizabeth, and Renee, who supported me during the 13-week coaching program I recently completed. Their encouragement helped me stay focused on my goals, improve my time management, and get comfortable with cold calling—a skill I never thought I’d master!
Without these incredible people and resources, my journey wouldn’t have been nearly as fulfilling or successful. They’ve all left a lasting impact on my story.
