Meet Kathryn Currey | Lifestyle Manager

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathryn Currey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kathryn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was rooted in my passion for service and my drive to help others succeed. For as long as I can remember, I’ve found fulfillment in making life easier for those around me, whether it’s through solving everyday challenges or creating systems that bring order to chaos. I believe that genuine support—whether in home management, business operations, or concierge services—can transform lives by freeing people up to focus on what truly matters to them.
The idea of building a business where I could provide this kind of tailored, meaningful service was a natural extension of who I am and what I love to do. I wanted to create a company that went beyond just completing tasks, one that empowered clients to reclaim their time, achieve balance, and ultimately pursue their own goals with greater clarity and freedom.
Girl Friday was born from this passion for service and a deep understanding that success doesn’t happen in isolation—it often needs the right support system. By stepping in to handle the details, I help clients focus on their own growth, ambitions, and well-being. Seeing their success, knowing I played a part in making their lives better, is what truly drives me every day.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Girl Friday, is a luxury home and lifestyle management service designed to help people reclaim their time and focus on what truly matters. We go beyond simply completing tasks; we provide a tailored, personalized approach to home management and concierge services that enhance our clients’ lives and bring order and peace to their days. What sets us apart is our genuine commitment to helping clients achieve a better balance in their personal and professional lives. We step in where needed most, creating a supportive, seamless experience that relieves stress and allows our clients to excel in their own pursuits.
I am proud of the way Girl Friday empowers busy professionals, families, and individuals to take back their time. We provide the support that allows them to focus on their goals and enjoy more meaningful moments with loved ones. Knowing that we make a tangible difference is deeply fulfilling and motivates me every day.
My journey to this point has been anything but easy. I started Girl Friday while working a full-time sales job, meeting with clients early in the morning, on weekends, and doing whatever was needed to get the business off the ground. Balancing my career, family, and entrepreneurial ambitions was incredibly challenging, but my passion for service kept me going. I faced obstacles like learning how to manage a business, rebranding challenges, and finding ways to stand out in a crowded market. Through it all, I focused on staying true to my mission of helping others and continuously sought out ways to improve and adapt.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way are that perseverance, authenticity, and a genuine desire to serve others are what drive success. You can’t do everything on your own, and asking for help when you need it—whether from family, mentors, or a trusted team—is critical. Outsourcing and delegating were key to my growth, allowing me to focus on what I do best.
I want the world to know that Girl Friday is built on a foundation of care and a passion for service. Our goal is to make life easier for those we work with, and we take pride in being the extra set of hands and the peace of mind that our clients deserve. Our story is one of dedication, resilience, and a deep belief in the power of helping others succeed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the best of Nashville’s charm, flavors, and unique spots. Here’s how our adventure-filled itinerary would go:
Day 1: Welcome to Nashville!
Breakfast at Brown’s Diner
We’d kick off the trip with breakfast at the iconic Brown’s Diner, a Nashville staple known for its old-school charm and hearty fare. It’s the perfect spot to soak in local history and enjoy a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
Afternoon: Explore Downtown and Broadway
We’d walk around downtown, stopping by the Country Music Hall of Fame and taking in the street performers and honky-tonks along Broadway.
Lunch at Subculture on Nolensville Rd
For lunch, I’d introduce my friend to the inventive flavors at Subculture. This spot is a hidden gem serving up unique and memorable dishes that never disappoint.
Evening: Tacos and Drinks at Chopper Tiki
We’d wind down with dinner and drinks at Chopper, a retro tiki bar with unforgettable tacos and an amazing tropical drink menu. It’s got just the right mix of fun vibes and great flavors.
Day 2: Adventure and Relaxation
Morning Hike at Radnor Lake
To balance out day one’s indulgence, we’d take a morning hike at Radnor Lake, enjoying the beauty of nature and peaceful surroundings.
Afternoon at the Frist Art Museum
We’d explore the Frist Art Museum to check out the latest exhibits and soak up some creativity.
Lunch at The Pharmacy
For a tasty burger and local beer, we’d stop by The Pharmacy for lunch.
Dinner at Rolf & Daughters
I’d make sure we end the day with an unforgettable dinner at Rolf & Daughters, known for their innovative dishes and cozy atmosphere.
Day 3: Music and Local Culture
Breakfast at Biscuit Love
Biscuit Love is a must-visit for a Southern breakfast. We’d try their famous “Bonuts” and sample their classic biscuit dishes.
Tour the Ryman Auditorium
A visit to the Ryman is a must for any music lover. We’d take the backstage tour and soak up the incredible history.
Lunch at Prince’s Hot Chicken
No trip to Nashville is complete without hot chicken. We’d head to Prince’s to experience the original.
Evening: Live Music at The Bluebird Cafe
We’d end the night with intimate live music at The Bluebird Cafe. It’s a quintessential Nashville experience.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my fiancé, my parents, and my children, who all play an incredible role in my journey. Their support, understanding, and love fuel my drive to create a better life for our family and to make a difference through my work. They’ve stood by me through the challenges and celebrated every victory, and I’m beyond grateful for their unwavering belief in me. Everything I strive for is to make a meaningful impact not just for others, but for them as well. Thank you for being my inspiration and my strength.
