Meet Landen Brown, A.k.a El Flickó | Nashville’s “It” Kid with the Camera || Director and Cinematographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Landen Brown, A.k.a El Flickó and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Landen, what principle do you value most?
Consistency is key to growth, both personally and professionally. Everyone has their good days and bad days, but what truly sets someone apart is their ability to show up every day and commit to their dreams, no matter what. It’s about that dedication and drive, which is what makes consistency so powerful. It reflects a deep commitment to your goals and motivates you to keep pushing forward. In my photography business, using tools like Notion and my vision board is a good strategy to stay organized and ensure that you’re consistently moving in a positive direction. By incorporating these tools, you’re not just maintaining consistency, you’re actively crafting the path to your success. It’s inspiring that you embrace the challenge of leveling up every day, pushing yourself to become the best version of yourself and continuously elevate your craft. Having this mindest will surely lead to long-term growth, both in your business and personal development!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My name is Landen Brown, also known as El Flickó. I’m a photographer and videographer currently enrolled at Tennessee State University in Nashville, but I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. I picked up my camera at the start of my senior year of high school and immediately fell in love with the art. Growing up playing football and running track, I always had a desire to be the best, no matter the challenge, and that drive has seamlessly translated into my photography business. I’m committed to capturing the best images and creating the most engaging, high-quality videos. My passion lies in fast effects, trendy videos, and cinematography, and I challenge myself daily to elevate my work with every piece of content. I’ve been fortunate to have many mentors along the way, including my aunt, Veronica Dennis, a professional wedding photographer. She taught me the value of mastering my camera and navigating the highs and lows of being a creative professional. Through these experiences, I’ve also learned what it means to be a CEO and businessman. Entrepreneurship has always been a dream of mine, and my camera is the tool that allows me to live it out every day. I want the world to know that I’m not just coming, I’m here.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were showing someone around Nashville, the first stop would definitely be Broadway and downtown. It’s such a lively area that perfectly captures the essence of Nashville and its culture. Of course, no visit would be complete without trying Hattie B’s at least once! After that, I’d take them to Centennial Park for a relaxing walk, some great food, and to take in the beautiful scenery. Then, we’d head to a professional sports game, whether it’s Nashville SC, the Titans, or the Predators. Nashville’s sports culture is something special and deserves to be experienced. To wrap up the trip, I’d take them to the Music City Walk of Fame, where they can celebrate the incredible talent that has made Nashville a true music city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been fortunate to have an incredible group of people supporting me throughout my journey as both a man and an entrepreneur. This select group has always been there to offer great advice, a shoulder to lean on, and the motivation to push me to be the best version of myself. I’m extremely grateful for my father, Vernon Brown, my mother, Kyra Brown, my sister, Nyomi Meeks, my aunt, Veronica Dennis, my mentor, Marcus Dozier, and my best friends, Malik McIntosh, Eric Robinson, Jason Blackwell, and Christian Tate, along with many others I haven’t mentioned. Throughout the ups and downs of my life and career, I’ve always known that my support system is ten toes behind me. I owe them more than they could ever imagine, and I can’t thank them enough for being there when others weren’t.
