Hi Te’Miyah, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks has been a defining force in my life, shaping both my personal and professional journey. Each risk I’ve embraced—whether in launching my business, pursuing new opportunities, or navigating uncharted territory—has pushed me beyond my comfort zone and driven significant growth. Risks have taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of trusting my instincts. Even when the outcome wasn’t as expected, the experience itself has been invaluable, equipping me with lessons that have strengthened my confidence and my ability to tackle future challenges. risk-taking is part of the journey, and I believe they’re necessary for anyone who wants to create something meaningful and lasting.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Cosmic Cleaning is a commercial cleaning business I founded with the goal of providing exceptional service to businesses and organizations in need of reliable, high-quality cleaning. What sets us apart is our commitment to delivering an “out of this world” cleaning experience, with attention to detail, reliability, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction. We specialize in a range of services, from office and retail cleaning to post-construction and BnB turnover cleaning, all tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.
The journey to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Starting a business from the ground up, especially in a competitive industry like cleaning, required a lot of hard work and overcoming obstacles. From finding my first clients to managing the operational challenges, it has been a constant learning process. But every challenge taught me something invaluable—whether it was learning how to manage finances, refining my client communication, or realizing the importance of building a network of mentors and supporters.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. Consistency, trust, and the ability to adapt are key. I’ve also learned the importance of having a strong support system, like my family and the amazing team at Corner to Corner, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in my journey
What I want the world to know about Cosmic Cleaning is that we are not just another cleaning service—we are a brand built on integrity, hard work, and a genuine desire to help our clients succeed. My journey is a testament to perseverance, and I hope it encourages others to take risks and pursue their passions, no matter the challenges.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite spots in Nashville include Linq for brunch, San Antonio Taco Co for casual, tasty Mexican food, and Blue Sashi Sake Grill for incredible sushi. I love visiting Lip Lab for a personalized beauty experience and Paddywax Candle Bar for a relaxing and creative time. For drinks with a view, Denim Rooftop is always a top choice, and RareBird offers great vibes and cocktails. Lastly, Harper’s is perfect for a special night out. These places are a mix of fun, flavor, and unique experiences that capture the essence of Nashville!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my family who have supported me. Their encouragement has been a constant source of strength, especially when things got tough. I also want to give credit to my clients who have trusted me to deliver high-quality service, without them, none of this would be possible.
