We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Santerelli Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
My end goal is quite different from what many might envision. While others may aspire to achieve a certain level of revenue, fame, or awards, my focus is on the impact I can make within my community. By the end of my career, I hope to share the knowledge of healing through holistic methods, empowering individuals—especially women—to support each other on their journeys toward alignment and health.

I’ve found that helping women who are struggling with corporate burnout has been incredibly rewarding. I want to teach and normalize the understanding of our energetic bodies and how our emotions can manifest into physical ailments and discomforts. There’s a fascinating interplay between our internal states and our overall health, and I believe that by bringing awareness to this, we can foster healing. I also aim to normalize how women, and people in general, can heal themselves through practices that incorporate the vibrational frequencies present in sound, crystals, and even words, which all work to either balance or unbalance us.

I want to normalize women’s circles and harness the power of the moon—yes, I know it sounds slightly tongue-in-cheek, but really, I mean it! There’s something profoundly transformative about gathering in community and connecting with the rhythms of nature.

For me, success isn’t measured in monetary terms or accolades. Instead, it’s about the connections I foster and the transformative experiences I create. I envision a community where women uplift one another, sharing insights and practices that lead to a more holistic and fulfilling life. Seeing that support network grow and thrive, with a little lunar magic along the way, would be the true measure of my success.

What should our readers know about your business?
Thank you for this opportunity to share my story. What sets me apart as a modern healer is my unique blend of ancient wisdom and contemporary approaches. Coming from a corporate background, I’m not the traditional healer; I believe we can lead balanced lives in today’s world while embracing a spiritual and holistic existence.

I work primarily with women ready to overcome corporate burnout holistically. Our energetic bodies are crucial to our well-being, yet they’re often neglected in our culture. It wasn’t until I understood my energetic body and how these centers relate to our emotions and thoughts—especially regarding physical ailments like burnout—that I was able to change my life.

I started my business after spending a decade trying to navigate both the corporate world and my spiritual journey. During a profound spiritual awakening, I faced judgment from both sides for straddling these two realms. To bridge this gap, I dedicated myself to understanding the science behind spirituality, demonstrating that my work isn’t just a passing trend. I show up to my practice while balancing my corporate career, embodying the truth that it’s possible to thrive in both worlds.

I created a safe space for women who have followed the traditional path society promotes for happiness but still feel unfulfilled. My clients are eager to explore deep healing that integrates ancient wisdom with modern expertise. They’re ready to leave burnout behind and embark on a transformative journey.

My journey wasn’t easy; it required dedication and resilience. I’ve learned that the most valuable lesson is to never question who you are or what you stand for. The passions that have driven me—those practices that brought significant change to my life—didn’t always fit others’ narratives. Those who doubted me were often toxic influences, but they taught me about my own worth and strength. To them, I say thank you.

I want the world to know that maintaining your energetic body doesn’t require you to be eccentric or give up modern comforts. You can incorporate ancient wisdom into your life without sacrificing who you are. If the conventional path to happiness has left you feeling empty, it’s time to look inward and recognize your own beauty and potential. You have the power to become your own healer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Nashville, I’d take them to Skull’s Rainbow Room for dinner and their amazing burlesque show—such a fun experience! The next day, we’d head out for a kayaking adventure to the bottom of Burgess Falls, which is just a quick drive away and absolutely worth it. We’d indulge in an epic brunch at The Joseph, known for its delicious offerings and beautiful setting. For a taste of local culture, I’d suggest visiting the Country Music Hall of Fame, and since we live right around the corner from Loveless Cafe, we’d definitely stop there for some classic Southern comfort food. Finally, we’d explore East Nashville for its eclectic shops and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed afternoon.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many people to thank, but I want to take this moment to give a huge shoutout to my husband, Jamey, and my kids. Our love truly transcends lifetimes. The support Jamey has provided—not only to me but also to our children—is beyond words. Without his love, I don’t think I would have had the strength or courage to stand up to abusive family members. His unwavering support has allowed me to heal from trauma and regain my balance, enabling me to share that healing with other women today.

The love he shows for our son and daughter is something I always knew existed and was waiting for. I genuinely believe that women who engage in this work often attract partners who come into their lives in divine timing. These partners serve as guardians and protectors of their energy, allowing them to grow and flourish. So, my heartfelt shoutout goes to Jamey for being that incredible support in my journey.
