Meet Andrea Burzynski | Owner of Heavenly Bakes & Cakes

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Burzynski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrea, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel like the most important factor behind my success is my uniqueness. I strive to come up with a ton of cool ideas and make unique products that people love. I get very creative with my desserts, to the point where it’s almost an art I’ve noticed my biggest sellers are some of my most unique items that you can’t get anywhere else. I also focus a lot on advertising and reaching out to specific groups of people. I am very active on social media and engage with my followers quite frequently.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art has to do with food… Each dessert I make definitely has some artistic talent behind it. I have a lot of items that set me apart from others because I like to be creative with what I do. I tried to hop on trends, As well as produce adorable items that you can’t find other places. A lot of my best selling items are holiday items, as I love to come up with creative holiday theme treats that you’re not able to find in most places. I got where I am today with a lot of hard work and advertising. I advertise to the point where I felt like I was probably annoying people, but how else are you going to make sure people know who you are. I’ve worked countless days and nights even to the point of going 76 hours straight of working To make sure I can achieve the goals I want to. it definitely wasn’t easy, and it can be very exhausting at times, but I just keep going because failing is not an option… I have to be successful. Some lessons I’ve learned along the way. Is it the harder you work the more it’ll pay off you have to make lots of sacrifices.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmmm… there’s so many great spots in our area and so many great local businesses. there is a little restaurant/ice cream shop downtown called RJ‘s Metropolitan ice cream. Their decorations are out of this world and the atmosphere is amazing! They have cute benches that look like ice cream, hamburgers, cookies, and they even have a little ice cream truck in the store. It is truly a unique experience. There’s also a lot of great restaurants, such as city crêpes, nite lites, and more! Our town doesn’t have a lot of big attractions, however, the Cascades Falls is definitely a big thing in our town and it’s cool to look at at night when it’s all lit up.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m gonna be honest the startup process was not easy and I did not have much support at all… In fact, I had the complete opposite. I had people holding me back. I probably would’ve started my business a lot earlier if I didn’t have those people holding me back but I’m glad I started it when I did. Overtime, I have gained support as I have become more successful. My mom and fiancé have a huge part of helping me out when I’m stretched thin. I also have a couple people that have came on board and help me out during my busy times that I am extremely grateful for. Lastly, my best friend/neighbor growing up had a huge part and where I am now, as we used to always bake after school almost every day we also used to bake cakes as our school projects instead of just using poster boards, etc. I truly believe that if me and her did not bake so much while growing up, then I wouldn’t have the baking business I have now
