Hi Kourtney, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Perfection not required.

It helps me remember that I don’t need to compare myself to others.
That I don’t need to be perfect in any capacity.
Sure, I’ll have a standard for making sure of the quality of my products.
But, perfection is never the goal.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We make over the top desserts and fun filled flavors for walk in customers, as well as, making custom desserts for all occasions. We also have fun events and themed days for all ages, which are some of my favorite things! I spend months planning and testing different designs and flavors to go with a theme.

Nothing has been easy with running a business. Even more with moving from home to a brick and mortar. I’m still overcoming challenges everyday. I just take it one day at a time. So far, I have learned that this is not for the faint of heart. It is crucial to have a partner or friend who you can talk with, bounce ideas off of, cry on their shoulder, then go back in the next day.

I don’t expect to make it big in this world, but I want to show my kids that you can work and try hard at anything. Success isn’t measured by money. I want people to bring their families for fun experiences and make lasting memories while enjoying our edible art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re a small town, but we have a state park perfect for camping, hiking, swimming, and more.

We would need to visit our historic downtown area with all the small shops, including restaurants and boutiques. Some have been here 20 and 40 years and some are new, like us. We have so many small businesses that we might need more than a week!

We enjoy going to the movies, bowling, laser tag, the skate park, the splash pad in the summer, a fun bike ride, and all the festivals throughout the year.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My grandmothers & great grandmother. I learned different areas of baking from them all.
My husband for supporting this, sometimes, crazy dream.
And my kids for inspiring me. I want to show them that they should try the big, scary opportunities in life.
