We had the good fortune of connecting with Rocco Cozza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rocco, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I graduated from law school, I worked at a big law firm. When I left that job, I began working as an in-house counsel for a technology company. In that role, I worked with bigger law firms. In both positions, I saw the gaps that traditional law firms have. So, when I decided to leave the corporate world and start my own law firm, I framed my thought process as: “I am an entrepreneur who sells legal services.” This made me look at the business aspects of running a firm: marketing, branding, sales, and customer service. I knew if I focused on those things, I would be able to carve a new path in the industry. That is truly what I believe we are doing: “redefining legal services.” We have had exponential growth over the past 3 years and do not see that slowing down anytime soon.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The firm I founded in 2019, Cozza Law Group, PLLC, is truly redefining legal services. We focus our efforts on providing innovative solutions to complex problems, as well as providing unreasonable hospitality to our clients. The road has not been easy to get to where we are and I only envision it getting more difficult. But I welcome the challenge because it will only make us better. The key, in my opinion, is hiring the right people: good human beings with a entrepreneur’s mindset.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, there are a few must-go spots for dinner in my opinion. The week would start with dinner at Altius on Mt. Washington and would end with a great steak dinner at Napa Prime. In between, we would head to a Penguins game, the Rivers Casino, and grab some sushi from Little Tokyo in Mt. Lebanon.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be the man I am today without the guidance and support of my mom over the years.
