We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, what makes you happy? Why?
What makes me happy? When I can make a person laugh. Why it makes me happy? Because I believe laughter truly cures a lot of people pain. Even when I’m having a bad day I will always try to put a joke in to make myself laugh. I love to see people smile and to help others heal. I even love when I get to bake or cook something they love and make them smile.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a homebased baker. I been baking since I was a child and always had a love for being creative with cakes and cupcakes. I also sell all types of treats for events or just because you have a craving for something sweet. How did I get where I am today? I been doing all types of desserts when I graduated in high 2010 but when the pandemic hit 2020 and I was just a 9-5 worker and going to University of Memphis for culinary arts I decided to get serious with my business. Was it easy? Of course NOT, it’s still not easy until this day. I still sometimes think I could do better or sometimes I just want to quit when an order doesn’t not go in my favor but I keep going. The lessons I learned along the way with my business is that you will always be learning and that it’s okay that you are not perfect. I want the world to know that if you a dream or a goal you want to achieve go for it but know you going to go through it to achieve that dream. I am the owner of Stacey’s Sweets and I am a proud Home-based Baker.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a funny question because Memphis have some places but I will take in the day time on Beale Street or midtown area in Memphis. There are a lot of restaurants and some people do not know hidden gems Memphis. There are many bakeries as well like Cupcake Cutie, Insomnia Cookies, Frost, and so many!
