We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty’Quez Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty’Quez, what inspires you?
My inspiration comes from a number of things, it’s hard to pinpoint one factor. One day music inspires me then the next day my inspiration will come from a Magazine that I randomly looked through. I say that to say inspiration, well mines specifically comes from whatever my environment consist of at the moment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
LEAK has opened doors for me and my family that I’m still quite frankly trying to wrap my head around. But it’s been one hell of ride and I’ve accepted the highs and lows of this game. Along the way I learned quickly that consistency ,discipline , and adaptability is necessary to succeed in this field. Unfortunately for some of my peers they lacked those qualities and that is what sets me apart from the “OTHERS”. Another good quality to have in this field is to actually have good quality clothes that will take you far as well and I’m a testament to that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting for a week I think I’d do a good job of showing them around the city. Most of my friends are conscious eaters so finding some foods spots in the city wouldn’t be hard. So places like Slim and Husky’s and Graze would be a go to spot and also Vegelicious. Now as far as drinking and hanging out I would just take them to broadway or downtown if we don’t party we will for sure get a good laugh downtown. My friends also love to shop and get fly so if they don’t grab anything from my collection I’d take them to a thrift or vintage store that’s more their speed.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wouldn’t have made it to this point without GOD so I’m forever grateful. Also if you’ve supported or showed my brand any type of love over the years this is a shoutout to you too LEAK would not be what it is if not for y’all so I want to say “THANK YOU”.
