We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Michael and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emily, what do you attribute your success to?
As a hairstylist, I think what’s most important behind my brand is kindness to others. I work with people all day long, providing services ranging in hair color to extensions to bridal services, and what keeps people coming back is how you made them feel.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have my own salon suite in Franklin. It’s always been rather easy for me building my salon brand because I think it’s just what I was called to do. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 10 years now. I am one of few from my graduating cosmetology class who are still behind the chair or even still doing hair. This year my salon , Tease hair & co, won Best of 2023 Franklin for hair salon ! It’s just one more reassurance that I’m right where I need to be doing what I love with a clientele that I so enjoy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being in Nashville and the surrounding areas. Food is my love language ! A perfect girls week would have to include some great places like Sixty Vines for burrata and a wine flight. Their pasta dishes are always amazing.
I am a huge fan of live music so a show at the Ryman or somewhere smaller catching someone local.
A nice dinner at Bourbon Steak is always a great idea. I love so many of the fun themed pop up bars Nashville has.
A downtown Franklin shopping day and lunch at 55 South and a coffee run would be a perfect Saturday.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I couldn’t tell about my career and journey without acknowledging the masters at Paul Mitchell the school where I attended. Outside of cuts and coloring, I learned so much about what it means and why it’s important to love all people. It’s part of their culture and it’s such a positive vibe to spread. Life is tough and we are all trying to get through it… it’s so much nicer when you’re a kind human !
