Meet Lauren Hays | Creator of Dogfriendlynash

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Hays and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what do you attribute your success to?
Truly the most important part of any success is a supportive and engaging community! It takes time to be able to plan out helpful content for our dog loving community and when our posts, reels and other content are liked, shared and engaged with – it makes all the difference!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We both create our content as well as re sharing content from our amazing followers! We focus on sharing dog friendly content for both the local community and those who hope to visit Nashville and the surrounding areas with their own pups!
We hope that our page can be both relatable, fun, engaging and helpful!
It definitely has its challenges! Coming up with new ideas, finding time around a busy work schedule and trying not to catch yourself in a rut by comparing yourself to others in the world of social media.
I’ve definitely learned to just do the best you can do with the time that you have! I started the account to enjoy time out in the city with my dog and if I’m helping others do that, then I’m doing what I set out to do!:)
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I have a friend coming into town with their pup, I would definitely want to make sure we have our weekend planned out so that we can experience all the fun things that Nashville has to offer!
First we would start with a nice walk at Shelby Park in East Nashville! Following that, we would head to the Graduate hotel for a little bite to eat and some coffee and hang out inside their beautiful lobby full of picture perfect decor!
After hanging out and catching-up up for a bit and of course snapping a few pics, we would, let’s be real…head home for a quick nap! 😉
After we’ve gotten a little rest in, it’s definitely time to head out for some fun at Pins Mechanical Co! Whether it’s playing some duckpin or arcade games, we would be able to hang out and have a great time inside or outside at this pup friendly spot! Plus sometimes there’s a food truck on site, so we may be able to knock out dinner while there!
Then it’s time to cozy up on the couch, watch a movie and head to bed!
Next day, it’s of course, time for brunch! After a nice walk around Germantown, we are enjoying a nice brunch on the patio of Mothers Ruin and a coffee hang at Red Bicycle! Then we have to enjoy a little shopping at the beautiful Golden Slipper! There’s no shortage of fun things to do with your dog in Nashville and on our Instagram page you can easily sort through dog friendly patios, shopping options, parks, indoor spots, events and more!
There’s so much to see and do, but luckily if I’m ever short on ideas. I can head to my page and gather some ideas for a great weekend!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would like to shoutout our amazing Nashville community for being so supportive and enjoying our content! Plus, we started all of this after adopting our dog from an amazing local shelter who also deserves a shoutout! So a big thank you to wags & walks nashville as well!
