We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Wiser-Savage and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Bodybuilding and fitness is looked at as a very selfish sport that is competitive and narcissistic. It’s actually a community of VERY tight-knit, but welcoming people who strive to help each other. Usually when people are exposed to this industry for the first time, they are extremely surprised by how helpful and friendly everyone is! I started seeing this even more so a few years ago at the all-female competition I created, the NPC/IFBB Nashville Fit Show. Backstage girls are helping each other with their suits, hair, and hyping each other up to go out on stage! Most people outside our industry probably wouldn’t believe this unless they saw it first hand, but it’s pretty amazing to see so much support and strength among a group of women.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
This answer might be surprising, but I don’t think I’m more-talented or better at anything than most people. I think I’m just really consistent and “keep showing up / keep trying” even when things don’t work out over and over and over again. I don’t give up very easily and that’s probably the single most important factor that has contributed to any success I’ve had. I’m passionate about empowering and building confidence in women. Whether that entails building strength in their body, their mind or their spirit, all 3 are important. As much as I love bodybuilding and helping athletes be successful, I’m probably most excited now about the women’s retreats that I host. Getting away to a tropical location with a group of women to dive deeper into who they really are and what they were created to do on earth is beyond transformational and inspiring in so many ways. I coordinate and coach on these trips, but I learn just as much and come back just as empowered as all the participants! So I’m really looking forward to my 4th one coming up in June in Tulum, Mexico!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ahh this one is hard because I really don’t get out as much as I want to anymore since I was pregnant all of this year and now have a little newborn baby, lol. There are SO MANY great restaurants in Nashville though, and I’m most of a nice steakhouse person instead of the normal hot chicken and bbq places that tourists like! A couple of my favorites are Bourbon Steak at the top of the JW Marriott and Kayne Prime, but there are many more!
If someone has never been to Nashville, visiting Broadway is an absolute must to see all the Honky Tonks and Rooftops. They get pretty crazy but everyone should experience it at least once.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are SO MANY things & people I could dedicate parts of my success to. First and foremost, without God none of what I’ve done would have been possible. He has provided me with the vision, the training along the way, and the opportunities and open doors that have contributed to everything that I’ve been able to accomplish and who I am today. My parents for always pushing me to be my absolute best in everything.
The mentorship I’ve had from a few great people over the past few years, as well as the mastermind group that I’m a part of now, GForce: Force for Good Entrepreneurs, that my friend Britnie Turner started in 2020.
The NPC and IFBB organization that allowed me to build myself first as an athlete and champion, then into an entrepreneur that can now help other athletes.
And last by not least, my husband who supports all my dreams and encourages me to keep going after all of them!
I could seriously keep going on this topic because there’s so many people that have supported me and believed in me along the way and have helped me in little ways that turned into major life shifts.
