We had the good fortune of connecting with Jineen Glover and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jineen, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I am definitely a risk taker and I love taking risks and going after change because to me life is too short to stay stagnant and not do something different. I took risks when I had my friends 2 babies for her as her surrogate(after my 3 babies) I wanted to help give her the gift of life and it was the best gift I could give her twice! I also took a risk when shaving my head and going gray! I wanted to encourage my niece going through cancer and I donated my hair to help someone. It is rewarding to help others and take risks but also to remember to not completely neglect yourself as well.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I sing and write poetry and I am in the process of writing an EBook about my silver haired transition and eventually a regular book. I’m also working on creating a bigger brand for silver haired people as well. It’s not easy and I am constantly learning new things and how to continue to promote my brand as an influencer. I’m still in process of learning and growing and hopefully that will always be the case. I’m continuing to learn to just be me and authentic and allow myself to be vulnerable in sharing my story. I want others to be encouraged and not afraid to take risks of going against the norms and allowing themselves to be seen just as they are.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow! So many! I’d take them to downtown Franklin which is one of my favorite areas. We would eat at 55 South. I’d take them to Nashville of course and maybe even to Assembly Food Hall. I’d take them on a hike at Radnor Lake. We’d get coffee at Crema or an acai bowl at Franklin Juice. I’d take them to the Factory in Franklin as well and we’d eat a treat at Five Daughters, or Jenis Ice cream or lunch at Mojos Tacos. I’d take them for a walk at Centennial Park or dinner at Once Upon a time In France. So many amazing things to do around here!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to my husband Shane Glover who always supports and encourages me! I also want to give a shoutout to other silver sisters who weren’t afraid to embrace their natural beauty and help change the dynamic and culture on what we had previously been taught about gray hair. Gray doesn’t mean old. It is just allowing ourselves to be free of what culture told us we should be doing by dyeing our hair! Women can be silver foxes as well!
