Meet Cynthia Denise | Chief Executive Officer, Mademoiselle Social Events, Inc.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cynthia Denise and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I spent years helping other event specialists and promoters promote their events with little to no gain in return. Furthermore, not only did they solely depend on me to get people there, I also saw how their followers and supporters were not getting what they put in, their money’s worth. I knew people deserved a better quality of events and entertainment, so, that’s when a light bulb came on in my head, and I decided to venture out on my own. Shortly afterwards, Mademoiselle Social Events was born!
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the founder and CEO of Mademoiselle Social Events located here in the bluff city by way of the Mighty Mississippi! Mademoiselle Social Events was founded in 2015 on the principles and importance of knowing that good people deserve great things, and that is why my company is dedicated to bringing upscale and classy events for the grown and mature audience while in a safe and mature atmosphere. My signatures that I am best known for throughout the years are: Costumes and Cocktails on the River, Tuxedos and Lace Citywide Throwback Prom, A Red Carpet Experience City Wide Valentine’s Gala, A Soulful Summer Night with Bird Williams and the BW Band, Summer Sundress Social, Soul of A Woman: Who Gone Handle Me? Women’s Soiree, and the Influential 20 Black Tie Awards Gala, honoring some of the most accomplished, amazing and influential leaders in Memphis and surrounding areas, just to name a few. I’ve gotten to where I am today with my company with a lot of prayer, faith, consistency, and work! It was definitely not easy to get to where I am today, and still isn’t because Memphis is a hard crowd to pull and convince, but I also know that, if you give my city what they want, they will come. They will support. I’ve overcome many unspoken challenges along the way, but one thing I’ve learned is, people who support deserve my smile. People who support me deserve my humbleness. People who support me deserve a hug and a conversation. No matter how far I go in life, I never want to be so important that I cannot acknowledge people. Some people fight to sit at other’s tables, but I never had to. I didn’t even have to create my own. God prepared my table for me. God did.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmmmm…
I really don’t get out much anymore in my city, lol, but If I had a friend visiting the city for a week long trip, depending on the time of the year and weather, I would take them to Auto Zone park to ice skate, Beale Street to Wet Willie’s for the absolute BEST frozen drinks. We would shop at Saddle Creek, Oak Hall, and Laurelwood, take a quick trip to the Civil Rights and Stax Museums. Alcenia’s Downtown would be stop for lunch and then a quick trip to Bass Pro. Red Fish-Lakeland for the best sushi ever! We’d visit Manhattan Sports Bar and Lounge and LOVE for a great hang out spot with live music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to first, thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for bringing me to this place and giving me strength to do what I do. Without HIM, I am nothing. With HIM, I am EVERYTHING! I would also like to thank my mother, Ms. Georgella, for teaching me, telling me, showing me, and instilling in me greatness. I love her for being a REAL mother and never giving up on her children. My love, Mr. Bird Williams, THE BOSS (LOL) for supporting me and allowing me to be authentically me. I want to thank my two children, my Michael and my Lauren for letting mommy be great! I also want to thank my event manager, Mr. Silas Sanders for pushing me into this by encouraging me and sticking by my side, and last but definitely NOT LEAST, my supporters throughout Memphis, and surrounding areas for believing in me every step of the way. I love y’all REAL BAD🥰
