Meet Kristen Smith | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
Life makes me happy. Waking up each day and chasing my dreams. Loving those around me. Spreading joy and light. Fulfilling my purpose. Seeing the beauty. Embracing the magic. Trees and sunsets. Oceans and skies. Rainbows and flowers. Breathing is my greatest source of joy. With each breath, I have the opportunity to choose my own happiness. To choose life.
What should our readers know about your business?
Resiliency has been the cornerstone of my journey thus far. At every turn, I’ve discovered an inner strength that has propelled me forward. This strength stems from my faith, the enduring legacy of my late mother, and the support of countless ancestors who undoubtedly cheer me on.
High Vibe, Mane stands out as a wellness collective, coaching, and consulting organization dedicated to promoting holistic health within my local community and beyond. Our approach encompasses a variety of avenues, including nutrition support, meal preparation services, community events, informative blog posts, wellness coaching, and fitness initiatives.
In addition to our local endeavors, we are deeply committed to global outreach projects– in rural Kenya, we’re engaged in impactful projects, including women’s entrepreneurship, scholarships, and Camp Spark. This international girls camp is a beacon of empowerment, providing a nurturing environment for girls to shine, develop leadership skills, and build confidence. It’s our way of fostering the next generation of female leaders and change-makers.
Throughout this journey, I’ve learned to quiet the doubts and insecurities that inevitably arise and to remain focused on our long-term vision. For me and for my brand, that vision is centered on making a positive impact on the world—one breath and one day at a time.
I’ve come to understand that success isn’t always easy or linear. It’s about facing challenges head-on and persevering, drawing strength from both personal conviction and the support of those who believe in our mission. Our story is one of resilience, passion, and a commitment to holistic wellness.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend is visiting me, then we are definitely heading outdoors and off the beaten path. We’d kick off the week with a bike ride on the Big River Crossing, traversing the longest public pedestrian and cyclist bridge across the Mississippi River from Tennessee to Arkansas. Afterward, we’d park our bikes and stroll around the South Main Arts District, grabbing lunch at Central BBQ, and then touring the National Civil Rights Museum, built on the site where Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. We’d wrap up our first day by enjoying a cocktail at the rooftop bar of the Hyatt Centric, watching the magnificent sunset over the Mississippi River.
The next day, we’d venture to Shelby Farms Park to explore one of the largest urban parks in the country. We’d start on the Chickasaw Trail and observe the buffaloes that roam the park. Before our next adventure, we’d have a picnic on the greensward in view of the park’s largest body of water, Hyde Lake. Then, we’d head down to the boathouse, rent paddleboards, and paddle on the lake, enjoying people and bird watching. For dinner, we wouldn’t have to go too far; we’d dine at Coastal Fish Company, sitting on the patio and watching the beautiful sunset over the vast lake.
Over the next few days, we’d explore the many trails in and around Memphis – Shelby Forest State Park, the various Wolf River trails, Herb Parsons Lake, the Greenline, and step into an Old Growth Forest in the heart of the city at Overton Park. To fuel up, we’d stop into several locally-owned coffee shops and cafes. Hopefully, we’d be able to catch the home team, the Memphis Grizzlies, playing at the FedExForum.
On Saturday, we’d head to the Memphis Farmers Market, grab an array of fresh vegetables, and cook up a feast to enjoy with family and friends, ending our week in gratitude and connection.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ubuntu, “I am, because you are”.
This shoutout goes wholeheartedly to my parents. My late mama, Lynne Smith and my daddy, Kent Smith. Without them, I would not be a fraction of who I am today. Thank you for loving me, guiding me, supporting me, nurturing me, and helping me to chase my dreams unapologetically.
And to my sisters, Kenya and Maya, thank you for allowing me to be my authentic self and giving me the safe space to bloom.
And a special shoutout to all the girls that have given me an opportunity to share my love and light. Thank you for helping me find my own spark each and every time.
