We had the good fortune of connecting with Bedon Lancaster and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bedon, why did you pursue a creative career?
Because I love creating. I love making sounds. I love making things that inspire me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like I am finally discovering who I am as an artist. I am working on my third album right now, but honestly I am kind of looking at it as my debut. The first two albums I am very proud of, but this one I just feel like I actually am starting to figure out what I am capable of. I always wanted to produce, so I started trying. It is so much fun. I am obsessed with making sounds that make me want to make a stinky face. I love it so much.

I also recently started painting you can follow my Instagram @bigdonny.art

Painting has less rules than music, so it is incredibly freeing. Everyone needs an outlet from their outlet. Painting feels like I can express visually what I am creating with audio, so these painting will be corresponding with certain songs. I wanna do paintings as merch. I just want to create as much as I can right now, physical art is a wonderful way to further that creative spirit in you. Everyone should give it a try.

Give producing a try too. I spent so much time thinking that everyone else was a wizard and that production was this unattainable thing. This is not to downplay others abilities though, I have a massive respect for the craft of production. It’s all on YouTube though. Just start trying to make something that inspires you. Everyone has the potential to be a wizard I think. Get cookin. It’s fun.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I have this little thing I like to call the golden triangle.

First you start at Smith and Lentz.

You get a pepperoni pie, take it to prom obviously (iykyk), ranch if ur not a ranch hater w pizza and their ranch is very dilly and wonderful. Oh and you get a beer. And say whatsup to the staff their cool people.

Next we are off to put our names down at Atta Boy because their is most likely a wait.

Then we walk back down to No Quarter to play some vintage pinball machines. Once your table is ready you go do the thing at Atta Boy and get some amazing cocktails that are well worth the wait.

Finish the night by asking for a Piña Colada at Atta Boy. It is crazy.

That is all.

I love the food scene in Nashville. It is very dope.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d definitely like to shoutout my wife Caroline. She puts up with all my noise making with the studio I built in our basement. She’s also really cool and stuff and is the mother of our sweet boy Willis, Corgi 1.5 years old.
