We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?

I found music at an early age and the guitar found me at 11 years old. Music was so mysterious to me. Hearing a song and not understanding how it was created, recorded, produced, just added to the mystique. I needed to know how it worked, how it gelled and how all those parts fit together in such a perfect package. This drove me to want to create non stop from an early age.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

In the modern era a producer has to wear many hats. Every week is different. I could be producing a record, mixing a record, recording a session for another producer, playing parts for another producer, teaching lessons or scheduling.

I believe what sets me a part from others is the cultural diversity I have when it comes to music styles. I feel comfortable and confident in a large field of genres, and making them authentic when creating.

Getting where I am today was a 12 year process of learning, saving, failing, and never giving up. My determination and stubbornness kept me moving forward. I’m only good at music, so I had to make it work!

I’ve learned as a producer, it’s best to learn to be an engineer first. That’s my advice. Learn the proper fundamentals in capturing audio and learn how that sounds. The problem is, YouTube and the internet is not the place to learn those skill. Get in a studio with a real engineer and learn those skills.

I want the world to know, I was a little guy from a little town who worked his ass off, inched his way up and made a lot of people happy.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Nashville has grown so much, it feels like it changes daily. Every new day is a new adventure here. It’s hard for me to keep up!

My favorite spots in town are definitely the Nashville Zoo, and Central Bbq (a Memphis bbq joint who’s set up shop in Nashville.)

The Whiskey Jam is always a great time, Jeni’s Ice Cream and the Pharmacy in East Nash are definitely on my list as well.

Another one of my favorite spots is the farmers market. There’s always a great variety of different ethnic foods that are delicious!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife, Emily Love has had my back from day one. Her support and belief in me has kept me successful. I can’t do any of this without her.
