We had the good fortune of connecting with Trap DeVille and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trap, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is to fulfill my life’s purpose, live in peace, have an impact on the people I meet as well as the people who encounter my music & films. I dream of living a long life creating powerful songs & films that add up to an impressive catalog earning my family generational wealth.
I want my work to deliver a message to the hopeless and to inspire others spreading love, positivity & empowerment.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a life long songwriter & storyteller. I began writing songs when I was 7 and it has been a calling my entire life. I get clear visions of projects I want to create and I find a way to make them happen.
I feel it’s part of my life’s purpose to create the music & films so I do it as my medicine & therapy. I used to be in the trap of doing things for a specific outcome but now I just let it flow from source and create the things I enjoy, the things that get my heart racing and genuinely inspire me to keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’de say first were going to the gym to get a workout in because Nashville has some of the best fitness centers around and that’s my routine everyday when the sun rises. After that we are going to Music City Diner for the best cinnamon roll pancakes on earth since my friends are in town I’ll be having a cheat meal or two!
Then it’s time for a studio session over at Sound Kitchen since I’m working on my next project. I’m sure my friends would love to sit in and watch the magic happen!
After a nice long day of recording let’s have a celebration dinner at Jeff Ruby’s!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a lot of appreciation & gratitude to the family & friends that stuck by me and helped me through the hard years when I was still struggling with addiction & depression. Struggle Jennings & Jellyroll gave me my first break in the music industry so I am forever grateful.
Mathew “Smalls” Kutcher has been a big supporter in my film career.
I have been extremely fortunate to have the support of many amazing friends.
