We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Ling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Working over 2 decades in conventional healthcare I felt like what I had to offer patients was really too little too late. This model only allowed me to pull people out of sickness not actually push them toward vibrant health. My husband and I started our own physical therapy & wellness business in order to help people put the pieces together by looking at the whole person, not just their injury or illness. We are able to offer the most up to date and well researched treatment protocols, not just turn out the status quo. This includes incorporating genetic testing, nutrition coaching, personalized fitness programs, weight loss strategies, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, manual therapy treatments, long COVID protocols, community initiatives, and more. The result has been whole body healing, optimized health, and getting to watch clients thrive for a lifetime.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Peak Potential Physiotherapy & Wellness was birthed out of a desire to do healthcare differently. To truly push people toward better health and living their best life. Beginning as a physical therapy clinic we have added skills, techniques, and knowledge to further support our clients holistically. I pursued a certification in Functional Nutrition as well as Women’s Health & Hormones in order to better support our clients in getting to the root cause of their injury or illness and allow them to recover fully. I believe that many people today have no idea how good they could feel. In addition to our in person services I offer a 12 week Integrative Health Coaching program virtually that allows me to walk with clients through transforming their movement, meals, mindset and metabolism in order to discover vibrant energy and confidence in their body again after an injury or illness. We use a three phase system that we outline in our book “Heal, Optimize, Thrive” in both this virtually program and with our in person clients. It has proven successful in our clients over the past 8 years and makes us excited to go to work and serve our community every day. Was it easy? Absolutely not. The pandemic was right in the middle of these 8 years and provided the biggest obstacles we have faced due to so many unknowns. In the end, we were blessed to provide a safe place of healing for our clients and came out a stronger team in the end.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in West Tennessee must include a trip to downtown Memphis, the River Park, and a piano bar. We would head to the suburbs to enjoy the best barbecue at The Commissary in Germantown and spend at day outdoors at Shelby Farms Lake and Park. We would catch some live music at Lafayette’s Music Room in Midtown and maybe even a musical at the Orpheum. The Civil Rights Museum is a must visit and trumps the more popular visit to Graceland in my opinion.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Trevor Ling has been supportive, my sounding board, the logical thinking that tames my creative mind. He is my partner in business, parenthood, and life. We both wouldn’t be where we are today without the faculty and staff at Shenandoah University Physical Therapy Program. They prepared us both academically and taught us to think bigger than ourselves.
