Meet Tori Frasher | Caterer & Event Planner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori Frasher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tori, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of Sage & Spice is having an open environment of kindness and honesty. When people celebrate each other’s wins and are ok to talk about their mistakes and losses, it helps to create a true team environment. I would never have achieved as much without the support of my wonderful team for which I am so grateful!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Throughout my professional career I have had the privilege of working in really great environments. I began working with Land Rover, which has played a significant role in shaping my experience and expertise in the industry. From a young age, I realized my passion for working with events. Land Rover, with its reputation for adventure and luxury, provided the perfect platform for me to develop my skills and knowledge in event planning. I had the opportunity to be involved in planning and executing various types of events, ranging from product launches to corporate conferences and off-road experiences. Each event presents its own unique challenges and built my attention to detail and planning skills.
One of the things I truly appreciate about working with Land Rover events is the emphasis on creating memorable and immersive experiences for attendees. I had the privilege of being part of teams that conceptualized and executed awe-inspiring events in stunning locations. This has evolved to help me in the wedding scene. I have been able to help transform spaces into beautiful wedding ceremonies that may have originally began as a barn or a backyard.
Growing up, I was fortunate to be surrounded by the exquisite flavors of my Lebanese grandmother and great-grandmother’s cooking. Her cooking taught me the importance of flavor balance and presentation. Her culinary creations were a perfect blend of tradition and innovation. The influence of her cuisine stayed with me as I pursued my career in catering.
My experience working with caterers at Land Rover deepened my understanding of the industry. As a customer, I was involved in the planning and organization of large and small scale events. Working closely with these professionals, I gained valuable insights into the intricacies of catering operations, from menu development to logistics and customer service.
This unique perspective allowed me to see the challenges and demands that caterers face in delivering exceptional experiences. It gave me a profound appreciation for the behind-the-scenes efforts required to create flawlessly executed events and left a huge impact on my own approach to catering.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Asheville has so many amazing spots – I think I would start with tea or matcha in our market, then stop by Sauna House for a hot sauna/cold plunge treatment. After that I would do a little hike – Craggy Pinnacle is close by and has gorgeous views. We might take a ride on the La Zoom comedy tour for a good laugh. Dinner at the Grove Park Inn overlooking the sunset and the huge fireplaces is always a win. We would stop by Urban Orchard for a cider flight – or tour the Biltmore Estate winery. Little Jumbo is cute for a night out!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out to Sheila Mraz. She’s an Asheville based photographer and her joy just shines forth in all that she does. She’s been an inspiration. Courtney Crouse owns Canaan Valley and she’s a superpower of elegance. She somehow transformed an equestrian farm into a magnificent gold and black speakeasy – she goes to show you can create magic with a little design. Kristi Mayrand from Stargazers Floral – she’s so organized and the passion for what she does just shows in all her work. Also, Bill Kelley from Peridot Consulting was my mentor and teacher and I don’t know where I would be without him. Kelly Lucy who owns the Breakroom – she was my assistant and walked with me all the way and now she has her own venture. There are so many people I could thank. My Dad was also my greatest teacher and role model.
