Meet Hannah Vossen | Bar Service Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Vossen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, what do you attribute your success to?
Cassandra and I, Hannah, have been very cognizant of what roles we each need to fill to not only improve the success of our business but to utilize our own talents. We believe that separating tasks that align with our natural skills has been one of the defining factors in our success. Having multiple owners who are involved in every aspect of your business can get confusing, but delegating who is in charge of which area and allowing each other to execute their role successfully enables all parties to build trust in each other’s abilities.
What should our readers know about your business?
Cassandra Hailey and I, Hannah Vossen, have been great friends for close to twelve years now. We have been bartending together for almost the entirety of our friendship. I find it very rare to have found someone I not only am close with in my personal life but that I can work next to everyday with such ease. It became very apparent to the both of us throughout our careers that we have a real talent for creating gorgeous cocktails, engaging with our guests, and running a bar at its highest efficiency and profit. We made the decision to leap into business ownership over a bottle of champagne on New Year’s Eve almost two years ago. Set The Bar was born that night. It has been challenging yet so rewarding to watch ourselves grow in just under two years. We are both mother’s to amazing kids, Cassandra recently graduated from college and I will soon follow in the spring with business degrees, we have day jobs to still ensure the bills are paid, as well as run this company. Keeping up with our day to day is challenging to say the least, but we both have found so much fulfillment in chasing our dreams. The life lessons are plentiful but we have met some absolutely amazing people and have enjoyed being a part of their families memories.
We specialize in craft cocktails, either creating from scratch so our clients can show off cocktails at their event no one has ever had before, or executing timeless classics to perfection. Our business model is to create an experience of ease and upscale service for our clients. We streamline the enitre process so our clients don’t have to worry about a thing. We facilitate all alcohol calculations and ordering to ensure you don’t have to much or to little, we shop for and prep all mixers and garnishes, and we deliver all alcohol, groceries, and ice to your venue. No one wants to be worrying about how to get 200lbs of ice to their event site, or who can grab their liquor order, or how many limes they’ll need for garnishes. Let us take care of all these little details for you. We will create a personalized bar menu for display so your guests know exactly what to order and we take lots of pictures to capture more of your special day.
Nothing makes us happier or more proud than to watch as your friends and family make lifelong memories. Our goal is to take as much off your plate while planning so you can us focus on enjoying your special occasion!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Knoxville, Sevierville, and the surrounding areas have some wonderful spots to visit. In downtown Knoxville I’d highly recommend visiting Vida for dinner and going downstairs to their Vault bar after for some cocktails. Absolute gorgeous atmosphere with some amazing drinks. Stir is another one of our favorite spots for good food and fantastic cocktails. Out in Townsend we love visiting the Company Distillery for a great lunch and lovely drinks. They have some of the best Rye whiskeys I’ve ever had. And a go to spot in downtown Sevierville for us is Seasons 101. A beautiful restaurant tucked into one of the oldest hotels in the area.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Anne White, owner of The Boyd Harvey House, was our very first client. She helped encourage both Cassandra Hailey and I to take the leap into owning our own business. She is a big supporter of local women owned businesses and has been a wondeful asset in encouraging us.
