We had the good fortune of connecting with Trenton Tanner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trenton, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
The reason I know to keep going and not give up in the music business, is because music to me isn’t something I’m doing, it’s something that’s in me. It’s a feeling that doesn’t go away. I know deep in my heart that music is where I belong. I can make a difference in the world with music and I know that’s my purpose.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
If I was to choose a moment I’m most proud of, it would be the moment I chose to put a guitar in my hands and start learning. That moment created a whole new version of me that I never knew existed. It’s been such a long hard road honestly and I’ve struggled more than a lot do because I was a young father. I’ve been a father my whole adult life and that alone was a struggle but to also balance my life as a single parent and a musician was just very hard. I’ve learned things along the way to make it easier, such as to just take a few days off every now and then and just spend it with family. I won’t be here forever and my kids deserve my time. I can’t always share my time with just the rest of the world. I know the world will appreciate getting to know me and hearing my songs because their true. I write from the heart and I write things that hit people just a little bit different. I’ve had my struggles in life and I just want the world to know they aren’t alone.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend meeting me and wanted them to have the best time ever, honestly, we would wing it. We would have no plan and literally just “go with the flow” so to speak. Sometimes the most fun things in life are the ones that just happen in my opinion. I’d cook a lot of meals myself because I love to cook and there’s nothing like the feeling of sitting around a grill and chatting with the boys.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people I’m thankful for behind my success in music. My family of course such as my girlfriend and my kids, they are the biggest support system I have. My kids keep my drive going because I know I’m proving to them that you can be anything you want to be. And my girlfriend of course likes to pick me up when I do have those moments of doubt. My parents and siblings and other family are also my biggest supporters out there. I always know I can count on them to show up and show support. And to constantly share my music on their platforms as well. And last but not least, my friends. They are always giving me ideas for songs just by giving me their time and company. But also they are always giving me their support and showing my music to everyone.
